No words can describe the feeling of being in front of these well-preserved ruins and telling the stories of their time. Speechless.

Well presented gate as the entrance to the older part of the town. Some nice small shops and cafes. It is is on the junction to the Roman theatre and further down the street to the church ruins.

The arch is an entrance to the old part of the town of Aosta. It has been wonderfully preserved, one of the reasons being that it has been covered by a roof. This makes it look quite unusual, but the structure has remained almost intact....More

Nice entrance for the city, on your way in the city, you'll go through it. You can find some information on the history behind it there or online !

A well laid out and presented, small, part of the roman remains. There were some English translations. The footbridge over the display gave it presence, and as I was not expecting it amongst all the shops, it was a pleasant interlude.

This place screams history. Take your time reading all the different plaques and information boards to really get an understanding of how old and important these doors were.. you can see the walls still standing across the town

The Roman (double) gates are huge, beautiful and impressive. What I loved most about them, and the Roman arch at the end of the street, was the incredible street life of Aosta that flowed through and around them. This is a fantastic little city with...More

Fascinating to see such history in the centre of a busy town centre. Fantastic walkway with glass sides going through the porta. Tourist information is right off the walkway too.
