This is about 2000 years old, yes. Walk thru it, feel the time passed. It's in amazingly good condition.

One of the best preserved Roman cities in the world and this is the tribute to the Emperor Augustus. This is the title given to this town - Rome of the Alps and it is well justified with all historical buildings you can find there.

As we drove into Aosta and were trying to find a place to park, which was not the easiest of tasks, we came across this arch. It is fairly simple but it is well preserved.

It is obvious that if you are anywhere near Aosta you must see this Roman site. It is well conserved, albeit perhaps in need of a cleaning.

Although it's very simple and well preserved monument, it's nice to visit it and enjoy the area around as well 2 small kiosk are just beside it to enjoy Pizza, coffee,.... while you can enjoy the sight Relaxing atmosphere around

This arch must be viewed from a distance since it is in the middle of a roundabout. It is at the edge of the old area of Aosta and dates back to Roman times. It is just another feature that made our 3 hour walk...More
