Just wandering the old city (within the walls). The sights & sounds were great, the Castle, Green Tower, Funicular view, the Duomo, and science Muse, we’re all 1st rate. The food was great as well, our only disappointment was we contracted COVID and were quarantined 12 days, looking out a hotel window! So we only had 3 days in Trento “out of our hotel”. Would have loved 12!!!

Enjoyed the short hop up to the village of Sardagna...took about 5 minutes and good opportunity to take in the views. However it is really worth walking down the hill to the village of Sardagna..takes about 10-15 minutes. The village is beautiful and we had the most amazing lunch at Ristorante Osteria San Rocco...highly recommended.

I am deathly terrified of heights, so the ride itself was not great, but the service goes every 15 minutes, is quick (less than 5 minutes), and provides easy access to Sardagna. We went up in April, so the village was mostly shut down, but you have great views, see a bit of a village, and if you visit the Osteria San Rocco, you have some of the best food in Italy at your fingertips. Highly recommended!

Whilst not the highest and most spectacular cable car we've ever been on, it was still a great experience. It wasn't easy to find where it went from in Trento, and we were helped by a friendly local. We used our Trentino card so didn't have to pay.
The view of the city is amazing and the viewing platform at the top provides excellent photo opportunities.
Sardagna itself is very small with a lovely, interesting church at its centre. Apart from the cafe at the top of the cable car, (which was very good), we only saw one little bar in the village itself in a tiny side street.

I've always loved cable cars and gondolas and the one in Trento did not disappoint! Our ride up was with a family with 3 wide-eyed children who were thrilled to be there. The town of Sardagna is very quiet and sleepy and there isn't much to do or see, but the views from the top are fantastic. I did learn after we were there about some hiking trails to other towns, that would have been fun. Even thought it was raining, the views were still incredible and the experience is one I would recommend.

A wonderful way to see the views of Trento together with far reaching views of the mountains. It's about a five minute walk from the park near the Tourist Information office.
The ride itself takes about five minutes to get to the top and whilst there is not much to do there, by the time you take some wonderful photographs, the return cable car is due to leave. In February the car ran at about 20 minute intervals. The views were outstanding and certainly worth doing whilst you are in Trento.

A nice panoramic view from Trento. 5 euros for a ticket up and down at the time of my visit, but nothing but the view awaits you up ahead. I recommend it if you have some spare time. If on the run there'd be better attractions. The view is amazing by the way.

This gondola takes you rapidly up from the river level in Trento to half way up Monte Bondone. It forms part of the public transport system which is probably why it is so inexpensive. The views at the top, of the entire city, are breathtaking. Only small disappointment - no cafe at the top. Still, plenty nice ones when you go back down again.

We enjoyed a free round trip by virtue of our Trentino card, which our hotel in Trento (the NH Trento) had given us free of charge.

We turned up about 25 minutes before the scheduled departure, and someone was already ahead of us, so I guess it’s wise to turn up earlyish. The cable car is quite small, with room for – I’m not sure – around a dozen people perhaps. It’s standing room only too, so it’s just as well that the ride only takes a few minutes. Naturally, you get some good views over the valley on both the ascent and descent … assuming, of course that you’re not a nervous traveller who grips something – anything – very tightly, and closes their eyes!

We didn’t anticipate doing much walking from the top of the ride – though that is certainly possible – but we did, nevertheless, amble into the town and looked into the church. At that point, because it was a warm day, we spontaneously decided to head off for a short walk into the hills. It was a pleasant thing to do, but after – what, 30 minutes maybe? – we began to enter a forest, and decided that perhaps that was as far as we should go (given that we had no maps with us). So we just savoured the views and then returned to the cable station. We were the only passengers on the descent, so had unobstructed views … which I, at least, enjoyed.

If we ever return to Trento, we’d go up again, but this time after some careful pre-planning, and maps to guide us across the several numbered walks that seemed to be available. I feel we may have missed a trick there …..

This gondola lift is a cheap and enjoyable way to see the city of Trento from above. Riding to the top takes you to a beautiful look-out point and small town with wineries around that are lovely to wander through. 5 Euros for a return trip.
