Nice to get a panoramic view of Trento if you don't want to walk up the mountain. Once you get to the top, there aren't many options, just to enjoy the view.

Whilst not the highest and most spectacular cable car we've ever been on, it was still a great experience. It wasn't easy to find where it went from in Trento, and we were helped by a friendly local. We used our Trentino card so didn't have to pay. The view of the city is amazing and the viewing platform at the top provides excellent photo opportunities. Sardagna itself is very small with a lovely, interesting church at its centre. Apart from the cafe at the top of the cable car, (which was very good), we only saw one little bar in the village itself in a tiny side street.

Took a trip on this while waiting for the new museum in Torre Vanga to re-open at 1pm. Great bar/cafe here as well. Free return trip with Trentino Card. Obviously not in the same league as the Rennon/Ritten cablecar in Bolzano but still an amazing experience. Cute little cabin and spectacular views. If you have time , then visit nearby Sant Appolinare Church which you can see in the great photo above and then visit the fantastic 'Le Gallerie' Tunnels Museum also on the doorstep.

The cable car experience in Trento is one that is not to be missed: the cable car itself is very inexpensive at 5 euros for going and return (andante e ritorno) but one should bear in mind that the cable car itself is quite small and thus does get busy. Despite any possible complications with the capacity of the cable car, going on the Funivia is worth it for the majestic views you discover when you get to Sardagna - a panoramic terrace allows you to lap these up and makes for simply awe-inspiring photos. On the practical side, be sure to use a mapping software to get from the station to the Funivia stop as there are few signs (there is a bar next to the Funivia stop) but despite any faults the system might have, the view makes it all worth it and so I would greatly encourage this as the best attraction in all of Trento - especially during sunset.

I've always loved cable cars and gondolas and the one in Trento did not disappoint! Our ride up was with a family with 3 wide-eyed children who were thrilled to be there. The town of Sardagna is very quiet and sleepy and there isn't much to do or see, but the views from the top are fantastic. I did learn after we were there about some hiking trails to other towns, that would have been fun. Even thought it was raining, the views were still incredible and the experience is one I would recommend.
