We took the chairlift from Merano center, it is located a stone's throw from the river Merano. The only flaw that you only pay in cash is that round trips do not cost as much and the chairlift shows you a truly unique panorama of Merano. Once you get to the top the bus waits for you at 50 meters and takes you to the real cities. Recommendation a stop in Dorf Tyrol, a beautiful city, nice bars in which to eat a nice slice of Sacher and enjoy the cool with a spectacular view.
Or 2/300 meters from the chairlift on the left you can descend into the Teppeiner path. All downhill little effort and a beautiful scenic route. On this route you will find alpine pastures in which to eat.
Recommendation also for children and strollers.

Unique way to enjoy the scenery. We used the lift to get from Merano to Dorf Tirol (very convenient). I was terrified before getting on as I’m not good with heights but was quickly distracted by the beautiful scenery. If I can manage, you can too.

Cozy single chair chairlift that connects Merano to Tirolo. Situated just outside the city center of Merano, one street away from the Lauben (Portici). Tirolo is a few steps further, but the chairlift provides great accessibility and some nice views! The chairlift passes some vegetation and vineyards.

The ride up is nice to enjoy the mountainside and when on top to enjoy the panoramic view of Merano.

I've always enjoyed walking down, ending up in the Gilf Promenade in Merano. However the ride down offers great views.

For the more experienced chairlift enthusiasts the panoramalift is just nice and cozy, a bit short but it fits the surroundings very well. Certainly not too spectacular but more relaxing.

The view from the restaurant at the top is worth alone the trip. We ordered a cup of coffee and enjoyed the great panorama over Merano.

This is a great little chairlift down into Meran from Tirolo, though we often walked down and got the chairlift back up.

We were walking around Merano for the day and came across this adorable little single person chairlift. We hopped on for a stunning trip to the top and then wandered our way down. The route is not well posted. When you exit the lift go up the stairs and walk straight up the road. Then to the left and you will see a sign to Merano a little way up on your right. Go on this path and just keep walking down. You will eventually get back to town. Alternatively, you can ride the chair lift round trip.
The views from the top of the mountains, the vineyards and the valley are just beautiful.

Have used this many times over the years. Great to use one way to get to or from Dorf Tirol (or both ways if you can’t walk one way up or down) Lovely peaceful ride in single seats, assistance given for the elderly or this with young children

This chairlift is a cheap, quick and easy alternative to public transport to access Dorf Tirol from Merano. The views over Merano and the surrounding area are amazing.

A single chair lift takes you to Dorf Tirol quickly. The return trip is little more than the single and if you are going to do lots of walking from Dorf Tirol it is worth getting albeit you can easily walk back to the centre of Merano. There are toilet facilities opposite the sessellift in Merano as there are none in the station..
The views are great in both directions. Enjoy the experience.
