Via Argentieri is pedestrian street in the old town of Bolzano. The street is dominated with food stall selling all kinds of fruits, sausages, cheeses, and others. It is very interesting area to explore as the building is build with Tyrolean style. It is getting crowded during night. One of the attractive place in Bolzano that is worth a visit.

If you wanna go shopping, this is the area. Full of stores, also street markets, it's nice to see it.

Fun place to wander in old town center of Bolzano. Lots of shops and numerous choices for dining. Nice, leisurely stroll in this South Tyrol town. Close to all the other attractions as well.

Although it’s just a street, and therefore difficult to rate above “average”, I feel that this just about nudges into the next category. It’s a medieval street that has probably served much the same purpose as it has for centuries: shops, traders, market stalls, cafes and bars. All within a brief stroll of the town centre. It has a quirkiness about it that is very appealing.

We had lunch here once, this is a family owned restaurant. We asked for a bruschetta, it was a super bruschetta, ery big and it was good. My wife had tagliatelle al tartufo and I had pasta al aglio, olio e peperoncino with raw tuna, very good too.

Once again the circle game evades me - how many circles for a good street? Is ANY street in Bolzano "average?"

Whatever you say to the above, Having just spent the better part of a week in Bolzano, I can say a few things about it.

It is a very easy way to get to it from Piazza Walther (Waltherplatz if you prefer). Stand at the back of the central statue (of medieval poet Walther von der Vogelweide, with you back to Walther's. You will see - you cannot miss - the salmon-colored Stadt Hotel Citta (a very good place to stay by the way, also to have a coffee or something stronger to drink). Walk down the alley just to the right of the hotel and at the back side of the hotel turn left. You could also turn right, but Via Argenieri dead-ends in a short distance from that corner to the right.

From here you will see small hotels, a few shops, and several eateries, one of the best known among them the Paulaner, where I tried to get service on two occasions and gave up each time after inordinately long waits for a waiter. It's a very narrow street, and it ends (having made that left turn at the rear of the hotel at the Piazza delle Erbe, which is an even more exciting street because of its market. at the corner of Argentieri and the Piazza delle Erbe is one of the best places I ate at while in Bolzano, Hopfel & Co, which also makes its own tasty beer.

I have little else to say about the route, and frankly, if there are any staffers at TripAdvisor reading this, there are several other more interesting places to review that I cannot find on its pages and have no way to accurately identify, such as the wonderful city park next to the river. Ah well...perhaps I've been writing for TripAdvisor for so long that I've become jaded.

Enjoy Via Argentieri, readers!

Bolzano is a marketplace for sure. And on Via Argentieri there were ample stores and shops and then out door market stalls from which to choose just about anything your heart desired. From cheeses and wines and fruits and veggies to clothes, shoes, and leather - lots of leather!
