BZ 18 - 45 exhibition is underneath the monument and it is so interesting to learn about the history of Bolzano-Bozen as well as the story of how and why the monument was built. The exhibition is very well presented with a mix of film, photos and written material and is free!

You cant get to close to this usually, but you can park nearby. This is a good one to do some research about if you like history. When you go make sure you look for the LOCAL monument marker, ACROSS the street, This is a NATIONAL monument.

Declared to be the first fascist monument, it is now a perfect place to think about past, present and future of Europe. This monument contains an excellent museum providing full information about coexistence of 3 different cultures in South Tyrol before and during WWII. It contains a lot of interesting texts, videos and moreover an interesting mosaic. One of the... More

The Monument itself might seem nothing of partcular interest - but insideit hides a Museum in which everything is clearsly explained - also the fact that the Town belonged to Austria and was then given-with the rest of the territory-to Italy when the treaty of Saint Germain was signed. All those who still wonder why here some people are native... More

It is very difficult to rate by circles such a place. When you pass by (or sit in for a while - it's quite nice) a huge riverside park and cross the bridge you enter a distinctly other part of town. And the first thing you can see - in fact it's impossible to miss - is this monument to... More

Nice spot to stop while walking along Talferbach river. Very close to the Otzi museum - on the other side of the river...

Here you can find a review of a dark period in local history that Will satisfy the native Italian speakers whose ancestors were involved as well as the native German speakers with involved ancestors. Objectivity is part of the exhibition. Worth-seeing.

Worth the trip. Not too much inside to see, but you will see some of the best views from up top, the colosseum, Roman forum, etc. 7 euro/ea for lift is only way to get to top, no stairs.
