A beautiful old monument built by a fascist but still a good way to honour those lost in World War 1.

I was really intrigued by this place because there is such an uneasiness with dealing with Fascism, Mussolini, and Italian nationalism in Bolzano. You will have an opinion about how well they have done: good or bad. This place is worth a visit.

highly recommended for those interested in WWI, WWII, Fascist architecture, or the political history of the region. It provides thoughtful context to the Arch and what it represents. It is considered the first Fascist Monument.

It's and Arch and not that great of one on a busy road. If you are driving by check it out and be prepared to be unimpressed.

An awesome monument! It’s a point which it’s are must see here in Bolzano. Since it construction the monument has been a focal point of the tensions between the Italian and German speaking communities in Bolzano and in the whole region.

This is a bit of a walk to the other side of the city. It shows the draconian decoration and not something we place in priroirty.

If you are interested in the history of Mussolini's attempt to Italianize Südtirol (Alto Adige) after the region was acquired from Austria following WWI, you will find the museum located beneath the monument very informative although limited in its scope. It also contains an interesting...More

We were a little put off by the fact Mussolini had this built, really why? A sore thumb in our opinion but eh someone else may think it great.
