Do not go from 11-15, as this is rush hour and you risk getting to stand up in the "wagon". Also you risk getting to stand up in the small train and can not enjoy the beautiful sights. The trip and sights is beautiful. Many possibilities for hiking and walking,

While in Bolzano we noticed there were a couple of cable cars heading up into the nearby mountains. We walked towards the cables to get to the bottom of one. It turned out to be the Funavia Renon. We bought our tickets, got on the large cable car and headed towards the skies. This particular cable car is the longest... More

Did this cable car trip when visiting Bolzano. The trip offers great views of the surrounding countryside and back down to Bolzano. The cars are quite large and easy to take photos from. At the top there is a tram which we caught to take us further up and to visit the earth pyramids some of which can be seen... More

Great scenic ride with to Gondola to the top. From there we took the short mountain train to the end station. Walk to see the Erdpyramiden was worth it, but it's more a hike through the beautiful mountain villages. Breathtaking views.

Don't skip this if you're in Bolzano. A cable car to the upper region "Supra bolzano" Big 35 people cars and the view is fantastic. We had some people in the group that were afraid of heights but they had the fun of their life. At the upper end of the cable car you can take a slow train rolling... More

The weather was good, but sadly the vistas were not clear due to air pollution for our week in this area. We enjoyed the trip up and down the mountain in the cable car, but were unimpressed with what we found at the top...no views or viewing area from the top of the cable car. We didn't expect roads and... More

We took a cable car ride and left the city and in mere minutes rose up and arrived in the country. Short trip but major change in locale and even a change in language from Italian to German. Intriguing shift in culture. Delightful experience.

I had seen many photos of the funicular up tp Soprabolzano or Oberbozen (Austrian or Italian), and most were taken on perfectly clear days. NO day of my four-day stay in Bolzano was anything like clear, but still the quick ride up on the funicular (funivia - just a short walk from the train station) and then a relatively short... More

It starts from in near of city center. You can park in same facilities. It takes over 15min to arrive top of hill. There is tiny coffee shops in arrive. You can walk around to see beautiful Italian - Autsrian villages.
