We drove up here as part of a tour of most of the swiss alps. We went up the classic way from the austrian side winding up the 40+ hairpins as the views got more & more dramatic. The view from the top down the austrian side is awesome, but take an insulated layer as at over 2700mt it can be quite chilly even in high summer. It does get quite busy & touristy at the top but whet do you expect.

Really nice views on this mountain road. 40+ U-turns and at some places pretty narrow but a joy to drive and look around! Coming from the north-east is the steepest drive, from the north (CH) and south it is not. The top itself is very touristic but still great views.

It's meant to be the tenth most dangerous road in the world, but if you get the chance to drive or ride up the amazing hairpin bends, do it! The views are simply amazing and although there are bike riders and motorbikes to dodge climbing up the pass, it's still a fantastic drive. We chose to do the pass early in the day before the traffic up and down became too daunting. We drove up the afternoon before and stayed up top. We also did the Cable Car to the Glacier (Livrio) where Ski Teams of all ages were practicing their Slalom skills. Don't think about it, just do it! You wont be disappointed!

Very nice aplenpass, with lots og harpins. The roads are fairly wide, så that at least a car and a mc can pass each other. Popular for bicycling and MC. Can be crowded during the summer season, tryd to avoid it. September is a good month, avoid saturdays and sundays, the local motorcycle heros are out riding. And don't start to early in the day, mid day or afternoon is no so crowded. Offer restaurants and hotels on the way up, and on the top. It offers spectacular views and experiences, try it from both sides

The road is a must for a true petrolhead! If you don't own a fancy and expencive race car, but you love to watch them fly by, then this is a perfect place to observe them. Just spend a day by the road and all the fancy cars will pass you by - Lotuses, Merc's, Lamborghinis, Caterhams, BMW's, McLarens, Jaguars, Aston Martins... you name it! And if you are a fan of motorbikes you can do the same, because they gather up there too. And mountainrunners, hikers and bicycle bikers aswell. The top of the road hosts you with ski-resort hotels if you are a skier! So plentyful place!
