What more to say about an Italian Church?
Just go inside and bask in everything wonderful in its architecture.
Every nook and cranny is plastered with details

This is another fabulous little church set on a pedestrianised walkway. Once again it is a church that doesn't look much from the outside but you are certainly wowed once you get inside. Traditionally all set in gold leaf the altar is wonderous with it's high dome ceiling, fabulous paintings and windows that shine brightly when the sun is out. The ceiling of the whole church is painted and is the best in Turin for this feature. Each side is lined in gold leaf with paintings, pillars and is well worth the visit!

The church is located in via Garibaldi at the corner with via Botero, smack in the center of town and part of the Quadrilatero.. Erected originally to host the remain of the first three Christian martyrs in Turin at the hand of Emperor Diocletian, damaged during the centuries and refurbished often, the church shows, as you enter, like a Baroque triumph. It features the main altar by Juvarra and a painting by Zuccari (perhaps). Definitely worth seeing.

We spotted the church tower as we walked along Via Giovanni Botero and were keen to visit. Even though it was past the signed opening time, it was firmly closed. But we came back in the evening and the extra trip was well worth it.

Built by the Jesuits, its interior is delightful. The vista along the central aisle leading to the high altar is breathtaking. The altar area is sumptuous, crowned by a colourful painting featuring Our Lady.

The organ and choir gallery is impressive. It has a very ornate pulpit. The ceiling is entrancing with vibrant segments of scenes from the bible.

Chiesa dei Santi Martiri is not a destination - but a very attractive church to walk through while wandering down one of the main pedestrian thoroughfares in Turin!

The church was built by Jesuits in late XVI - early XVII century. It holds the remnants of Holy Martyrs from which it takes its name. A beautiful church to see.

We stumbled upon this church when we were just leisurely strolling around, as most retail shops had closed or were closing. The exterior was nothing spectacular nor eye-catching. I was reading the write-up on the plaque and it got me interested and I decided to enter with my family to have a look.
Upon entering, we were amazed by the quiet and peaceful atmosphere inside but yet the opulence and grandeur of the intricate details on the walls and ceiling was such a striking scene. The different shades of gold and yellow, the marble columns and the fine details of the figurines were just breathtaking! We simply sat down for a while to examine as much as we could. There were few visitors, less than 10 including us and everyone was quiet and respectful. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

This church is at Via Garibaldi 25. The building from the outside is not overly impressive, but what a surprise when you go inside. It is magnificent – words cannot describe it adequately, you have to see it for yourself - wonderful paintings, beautiful gilding, walls of marble.
