This has been one way to move in turin, together with bus, since I was young. The one you see in the pic and that you can pick up in Piazza Castello was running in the 70's 80's. It makes an interesting tour in the streets of the downtown of Turin.

We had 3 hr a guided tour - arranged via "Tours by Locals" - and part of it was a ride on this historical tram. And amazing way to explore the city. NOt too long and you can hop on and off. Gives you a good feel for the city and which places you might want to visit later on.

Turin still has a fairly comprehensive tram network, although it has obviously been reduced over recent years given the tracks which have not been lifted but which no longer have any power supply. Not unusually, the service trams are of different generations, included the latest articulated, air-conditioned models. Route 7 only operates on Saturdays and Sundays (I'm not sure about... More

With a husband who loves trams, we had to choose this sightseeing trip instead of the ordinary red buses... Enjoyable and very peaceful - it was the first trip in the morning (9.30).

I bought the three day Turin/Piemonte card whilst in that city - a VERY good value as far as cards go, public transportation and many of the city's museums included - and really capitalized on the museums. The transpiration system eluded me somewhat, and whenever I DID find myself at a tram station number 7 seemed to show up, like... More

When I was a child they were already rare, now they are museums on wheels! The tram is very interesting, wooden inside and tourists should take a ride.

I was brought for dinner on the tram as a Valentine's Day surprise, and it did not disappoint! It's a lovely way to spend an evening, and though the food was nothing stellar, it was good and the entertaining lots of fun!

Was really looking forward to this but it's only running at the weekends at the moment - that wasn't clear on the website and only found out once we were there and I asked the tourist office. So if this is something you're planning to do - email torinoturisme to check first!!

Who knew that the tram 7 runs at other times as well? We didn't and so when we boarded the number 7 at just before the time we expected it, we found ourselves not on a pleasant round trip of the city, but in neighbourhoods very far from the extents of our maps. So be warned, the 7 isn't always... More
