The largest market in Europe! The smells of the fresh herbs and the piles and piles of fresh peaches, figs, plums etc make you want to buy them all! A section of the market is for clothes - lovely floaty Italian dresses and tops -€12...More

The market is mostly cheap consumer stuff. Mainly clothes, accessories and electronics. There's a huge Deli building. I was told the antiques are only there on saturday so sadly i missed that. I would recommend for locals rather than tourists.

I took a group of Scottish Cookery students to visit this market. They were astonished by the quality, volume and prices of the fresh products.

I really, really like markets. And this one is great. Huge choice in fruits, vegetables, meat and cheese. But also clothing, soap, flowers, antique,... A very vibrant atmosphere that both locals and tourists can enjoy.

We enjoy markets and this is huge and fun. As usual, watch out for pickpockets, but that's standard advice in big markets. There's something for everyone but what it amazing is to stick around after the market closes and watch how it is broken down,...More

We visited the fruit and vegetables part, open air. We found a great variety and good prices, even better offers. The clothing part is like a low version of Oriental bazaar, probably best avoided.

This is the biggest open air market in Europe. And as such you can walk for hours on end looking at different stalls and choosing what's going to be next on your menu. If that's not interesting enough, the sellers are friendly and as usual...More

Check the website closer to your trip. The site shows the hours over Christmas - New Year just past. I expect it will show the hours over Easter (Pasqua) around late Feb or March. Do a google search on "mercato di porta... More
