Lovely Church
Sep 2018 • Couples
This is a lovely church on the way down from the top of the mountain. Or a bit up the mountain from the middle of town! Worth a visit.

Our Friends Wedding
Oct 2017 • Friends
We visited Lake Orta for a friends wedding, and this church is where they were married. Beautiful architecture and a very traditionally Catholic church.

Worth the climb up the slope
Jun 2018 • Couples
The slope / steps look daunting from the bottom - and they can be a little slippery - but its worth the climb

Good views from entrance
Jul 2017 • Couples
It's a steep but pretty climb up from the town square (cobbled in centre/shallow steps either side) and you're treated to fine views when turning round outside the entrance. Inside it's very ornate but I felt the church interior on San Giulio island was the better of the two, although the outside facade here is far more attractive. Intended continuing uphill to visit the shrines of Sacro Monte but it was such a hot day we just couldn't work up the enthusiam for a further climb after partaking of a substantial lunch in town!

It's worth the climb
Jun 2017 • Couples
A lovely little church perched on top of the hill which offers great views of the town. As you climb you move away from the bustle of the own which has to accommodate so many tourists during the day. Well worth a visit

Climb The Stairs
Oct 2015 • Couples
Climb the stairs from the center of town to the church that has been in this town for centuries. you have a great view of the town from the front of the church. The steps are narrow and steep but the buildings are worth your time to stop and take a break along the way.

On the way to Sacro Monte
Jun 2016 • Couples
This is a nice church at the top of a short steep hill off of the Piazza in Orta San Giulio. This place is so picturesque. When you reach the church, you can turn back and take in the view of the little lane that you have just walked up, looking onto Lake Orta before enjoying the church itself. This is a good place to use as a rest before heading on up the hill to the chapels at Sacre Monte.

A short historical walk!
May 2016 • Couples
Off the main square of Orta San Guilio are the stairs up to the local church. Every building along the way is worth stopping and looking at as each one is steeped in history, have old frescoes on them and I am sure have a story to tell! There is also a gallery in an old Palazzo on the way up. The entry was free when we were there.
Once you get to the top of the stairs, there is also a wonder view of the town and lake Orta below you.
