Giuseppe Mazzini was the Italian politician, journalist and very influential activist for the unification of Italy. His statue, completed in 1874 by Giulio Monteverdi, is now part of the larger structure dedicated to the Italy’s path toward unification and designed by Pietro Cascella in 1974.
