The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Neo-Baroque style facade with concave and convex fields on a short staircase. Interior with a single nave, rounded corners, characterized by an elliptical shape with Baroque features. The barrel vault of the nave, decorated with frescoes and interspersed with arches. The walls enlivened by concavities are decorated with groups of large Corinthian pilasters with golden capitals, alternating with open side chapels.

The church of San Francesco di Paola overlooks via Manzoni, about fifty meters from the corner with via Montenapoleone, and has a concave baroque facade among whose decorations stand out the statues depicting Faith and Hope, positioned on the side balconies. The single nave interior presents a rich decorative apparatus, of particular impact are the fresco on the vault, the imposing high altar in polychrome marble and the four side chapels. If it is open, it is worth a visit inside.

Small church that almost goes unnoticed. Its construction dates back to 1728, decorated with beautiful frescoes. It is in the baroque style. Its façade seemed simple to me, but with very beautiful details. We discovered it by chance while walking through the streets of Milan where we stayed with my husband for only two nights.

The architect Marco Bianchi designed the church in the early 18th century on the ruins of the oratory of Sant Anastasia which was destroyed in a huge fire more than one hundred years ago. It is considered to be one of the finest example of baroque and rococo style in the city. The interior of the church is richly decorated in typical baroque style, mostly from marble.

The altar is spectacular with all the gold and the paintings. There are a number of other beautiful paintings in this church along with artwork on the ceiling and the large organ pipes in the back. This may not be worth a separate trip, but if you are in the area, it is definitely worth stopping in.

I did not intend to visit this church specifically, but since I walked by the front of it, I entered for its appearance. And I found it striking. The temple was built in the 18th century by a religious ordered founded by San Francesco. Marble an gilt decorate the interior of the church, constructed in baroque an rococo styles. There are some nice paintings, like the Neoclassic fresco at the altar that represents The Glory of San Francesco di Paola, and other ones on the side walls of the church. It was good that I saw this monument. Independent of personal believes, it is worth of visiting it.

Beautiful Baroque church richly decorated. Its entrance is in the central Via Manzoni between shops and much traffic. Once inside I was struck by the beauty of the decoration, and in particular the altar, the side chapels and the ceiling.
