I think I found this place on a trip building website. It’s cute for happy hour and a quick appertivo. Was sat straight away, and with a decent table. The appertivo spread was nice. Server was nice, but very transactional. Drinks are paid for in advance, regardless of the number you have. I would recommend carrying cash if you have multiple, to keep the cc company from thinking something crazy.. we opted for one. I think the drink prices were reasonable considering the drinks come in these giant glasses with large ice cubes. They say this is where the appertivo was created. Nice to say you went. I would recommend

I think this place has been around since the 1950s?...and not much has changed apparently so expect decor etc to be a bit tired but that didn’t bother us - we liked the dark timber against the old chandeliers. Our B&B owner recommended a drink here before dinner...the drink (in a massive sized glass with huge block of ice!) came with snacks as well (nice enough but just the usual). The block of ice in drinks was big enough to give a nasty bump to nose if you’ve had too many and misjudge! Fortunately we stayed relatively sober (hard to be anything else as not a lot of alcohol in drinks for price). However, all good fun and the old fashioned/unpretentious vibe was enjoyable too.

I know it’s not a cheap price for a drink but they maintain their inresistable old era charm to the modern life. Come to experience this yourself and enjoy the last century decor atmosphere with a smile.

Stuck in the 80's they now serve terrible overpriced drinks in dirty glasses, old snaks from the past in a sad atmosphere…
Change now or fail.

Historical and traditional Italian bar. The legend said that the drink Negroni it has been invented here - not sure about this - but the Negroni at Bar Basso it is absolutely a tradition for the Italians!

Apparently the place to be —- !
If your an underage drinker - or a teenager then this the place for you...
however if you don’t want to queue for 20 minutes to pay for a drink then queue another 10 to get your drink with your receipt -with most of the locals pushing in front then I’d avoid ! —
Rammed packed hot and sweaty inside —
Rammed packed into the roads outside !

DO NOT go to this bar!!! I have never witnessed such a horrible service before!!! Staff are unpleasant and rude. Overpriced drinks served in the wrong glasses!! I am never visiting it again and I will make sure others do not waste their time and money there. Plus, it is run down!

Many of our Italian friends told us about this bar to go and see top designers during Salone del Mobile, coming for drinks at midnight! We got there at 10:30 pm and was surprised that it looked like any local bar with nothing special about its look or vibe, however, there were 100 people outside waiting to get in. The sandwiches looked dry and nothing cool about drinks that they were serving. Went for dinner across the street. 2 hours later went back and there were at least 1000-1500 people outside the bar, on the side walk and the street, just like a huge party. Ages from 18 to 80! There were people next to us drinking their own beer taking them from their bags, because there was no way you could get to inside and order anything. It was a fun and unique experience watching the locals enjoying and iving life at any age.
