This beatiful door was built in 1814 to a design by Luigi Cagnola and was the sixth door on Spanish Walls on the way to Pavia. This direction had already had ancient doors : one in Medieval times and even earlier one in Roman times.

Located at the end of Darsenna waterway, Porta Ticinese is a prominent landmark and a good meeting point. It is one of the city's old medieval gates and from here you can explore the canal area of the city.

This is the original Porta Ticinese which was constructed in 1171 and is one of only two to survive in Milan.

The monument isnt much to see in itself, but its a landmark centered in the area to easily find your way. Plenty of places to eat in the neighborhood for all budgets. Some places to shop, but its not upscale shopping like other districts in Milan. Worth a walk through the area if the weather is nice.…
