The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Saturday's crowded-overcrowded with buyers looking for inexpensive- new- day to day items.
Small kitchen goods and clothing/shoes/leather/linens. Food at rock bottom prices.
If you are looking for Milan's top designers, this isn't it. If you are looking for a no name cashmere sweatre under 10 euros, you'll be in heaven! Parking is difficult but is always this way on market days. Watch your wallets ,bring small bills, and shop till you drop! we always do....

Visit Viale Papiniano market on a Saturday morning. The stalls stretch as far as the eye can see, selling all kinds of clothing, fashionable dresses can be found for less than 10 euros, although the quality could be spotty.
We particularly enjoyed the little food market as well, which had a number of stalls selling fresh veggies and fruits, meats, olives, anchovies, salt cod (baccala), cheese and breads. We saw lots of lovely purple artichokes everywhere when we visited. Bought some lovely prociutto, speck and sopressata at a fraction of the price we would have paid in Peck. Of course some may find that the quality to be different, but it suited us fine.
Nearest metro station is S.Agostino.

Upon my enquiry at a tourist information centre, I was informed that this is a flea market. My wife and I had a quick lunch and rushed to this place. This turned out to be a disappointment as it was not a typical flea market with collectibles. There are many fruit and vegetable stalls .The other stalls mainly sold cheap apparel and fashion accessories that were heaped as if the goods had fallen off the back of a truck.
Essentially, a place to make ends meet for those with low financial budgets.
Nothing to warrant a visit. Time would be better spent elsewhere.

I went to the Papiniano Market expecting a real flea market with second hand and antique stuff. When I arrived there I found (to my dismay) that it was mostly just any typical european market selling factory stock, wrongly produced and fake (brand) clothes. It did have a large section of fruits and vegetables, that was nice, but the clothing section was chaotic and very crowded and not nice at all.

Aside of nice market for fruits and vegetable on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the middle of the street it is formed market with goods of questionable quality. Here and there you can found some quality stuff but not from any famous brands. Definitely this is not the place for shopping quality clothing at low prices. The option of purchasing cheap clothes around Milan I suggest fashion outlets 1.5 hours away by bus for 20EUR return ticket. Best of all is SERRAVALLE DESIGNER OUTLET.

We thought we would be able to grab a few designer bargains on this "flea market" as we had read about it. Yet, this is a normal market selling everything - from fruit to (low quality) clothing, shoes, cheap watches etc. You do find the occasional flea market style stand but trying to find something wearable ie fashionable was totally impossible! Yes, there were designer names: Dior and the likes but the clothes were simply unwearable: ugly colours, awful ornaments, terrible fabrics etc. etc. Also we found a couple of old and washed out looking clothes by Ralph Lauren, Hilfiger, Abercrombie etc. We left after walking around for half an hour.

Cheap Stalls - not much of interest
Didn't think much of this to be honest. The food section was quite small - nothing like as good as Mercato di Via Osoppo.

I stayed at AC Milano hotel and the hotel is just in front of Subway passage. So, I tried the green subway from Garibaldi station and took off at St. Augustinian station ( 5 stations). When you came up , the market is just right in front of you . The trick is the food market is perpendicular to the clothing market. You have to take a look at the intersection. They sell fruits, cheese, salami , dries fruits, olives , nuts to sun dried tomatoes. The price was cheaper than those at the supermarket.

Buongiorno,

Grazie a chi risponderÃ

Mi spiace ma non so dire di preciso se e quali bancarelle ci sono. L'ultimo sabato dicevano che sia a S.Ambrogio che all'Immacolata i mercati ci sarebbero stati.
