Walked from Milan Centrale only to find a poor selection of clothes and very expensive. Definitely not a must do for Milan.

Very poor selection. If you are familiar with outlet stores & malls in the USA, this will be a major disappointment. Don’t bother.

Hello Darregh, Italy is not USA, that's why you probably came here. Salvagente's DNA is different and special, sorry you did not find what you were looking for. Regards

After reading lots of reviews on bargain shopping in Milan I made my way to Il Salvagente only to find really expensive items!! Shoes were 350 euro for anything decent and lots were old fashioned and the clothes were worse. My mothers wardrobe was better ... and I donated all of it to the poor when she died!! Very overpriced and disappointing. I had better shopping in the boutiques around Milan.

Ciao Gloria, sorry you didn't find what you were looking for. We price everything at a whooping 40% of the original label price, it means that in the brand's shop that pair of shoes was priced at 880 euro. I'm surprised that you say our clothes were old fashioned, everything is from the last season. My complimens to your mother, she must have been a classy woman. Best regards!

When we spent a month in Milan in 2007, we walked here almost every day and both returned with many new items for our wardrobes. So when we recently returned to Milan for a short family visit, this was top on our list of things to do. This time, my wife, the "fashionista", found nothing, but I scored with a pair of blue suede shoes, a one of a kind jacket and a beautiful bow tie. That's how it is here. The stock changes quickly and you never know what you'll find - but it's worth the effort because what they do stock, is unique and well priced. My wife and I have spent months in NYC, Paris and Milan while she (as a professor) studies fashion and I (as a professional photographer) take pictures in each city. This is the best outlet store we have been to - by far. A gem and one of a kind.

Listen, I get it. You're from North America and you want to go to Milan and get some cool Italian fashion. You dont want Prada, Gucci, Chanel, etc....you want some fresh stuff that you normally can't buy in America. So then you google 'Milan outlet fashion,' and you get Il Salvagente and they say that they are an outlet of Italian clothing. Mind you, I'm a guy, so I'm mainly reviewing the men's clothes. Everything that they have upstairs, I can buy at Macys, nordstrom, or TJ Maxx. The women's section had nice stuff, like Moschino and others at a good discount, but this place isn't exactly in the middle of downtown -it's a 10 minute bus ride, which is fine, but not worth the trip, imo. Assuming that you will be walking around the Duomo and Vittori Emmanuelle, you should look for 'outlets' and 'temporary stores' in that area. 2 places that I found were Highline and touch and Go. They had some super fashionable stuff that I got excited about. Bought 4 pairs of super stylish Italian made shoes for 30E each and spent 160E to FexEx them home lol. Nothing against Il Salvagente. It's just that I know why we come to Milan, and this really isn't that much of a destination as you might hope it would be.
