Useful and quick, the bus will take you directly to Scalo Milano from Centrale or Cairoli. The timing is perfect.

Living in Milan I hadn't realised just how easy it was to arrive at Mont Blanc. And of course by coach you can enjoy all the views once you arrive in the region of Val d'Aosta. It's a well organised tour and to find yourself...More

If I purchase a ticket online I don't really like to have to wait at the ticket counter to get another receipt. The bus was smelly and old, not that comfortable, moreover the bus departed on late. On the other Hand the driver was kind....More

A disaster of a company with terrible attitude and zero customer service. They overbooked the tour, so having received our confirmation and payment being taken, within 2 days we were informed our tickets were being cancelled and no alternatives to see the last supper were...More

I am truly disappointed in the tour. We booked the tour directly at Zani Viaggi including the visit of the Doumo, the Museum of la Scala, and the last supper. Due to special events at la Scala the tourguide announced right at the beginning that...More

Let me start off by saying that the train ride to Switzerland was absolutely fantastic and I would take the train again in a heartbeat. Switzerland itself was also breathtaking and I am anxious to return to explore more of it. However, I would not...More

The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square
is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon

Fastest way is a Taxi. Be sure to be there 10 minutes before 7am. It takes aroind 30 min to arrive. 2nd best option is to use the metro station 3 min walking distance from your B&B. But if I were you I'd take the taxi and... More

Hello Denischia, you have 3 way: - you can take the underground Green line, start in "Centrale FS" end in "Lanza" and walk 150 meters to the departure point (the ticket costs 1.5 € per person) - you can take a taxi, at that... More

Viator or Zani Viaggi (2 Replies)
We are traveling to Milan in May and are thinking of booking a couple of tours. We have been looking at the Viator tours and also figured out that the same tours they are offering are the ones that Zani Viaggi actually runs. Prices are comparable but I am wondering if there are any advantages or disadvantages with booking through one or the other? Does anyone have any experience or recommendations?

If you have a choice of booking through an agency or direct with the tour operator, book with the tour operator. There is less that might go wrong.

Driving in Italy (5 Replies)
We are driving from Venice to Lucca and stopping in Milan overnight to see the Last Supper on the Zani Viaggi tour. I hear driving in Milan may be difficult. Should we consider an alternative to driving to Milan from Venice and then renting the car in Milan to get to Lucca or is driving still the best option.

A bizarre route -- something like going from Los Angeles to Las Vegas by way of San Francisco. Anyway, I'd say a car would be a total inconvenience (I mean, not only within Milan). Co by train. Much less hassle.
Milan tour company (2 Replies)
Has anyone taken day tours wiirh Zani Viaggi from Milan? We are considering taking several one day tours but the information on their site doesn't give details about how much riding vs how much actual time at the destinations. Very little information. I'd appreciate and imput you may have. Also when do the shops in the lake towns open for the season?

Being a local resident of course I never felt the need to take one of their tours, but I can tell you that it is a reliable tour operator that has been on the market for ages. Perhaps you could send them an email to request additional info, I'm sure they'll be forthcoming. As regards the lakes, I believe the "season" there should start around Easter time, but bear in mind that locals live there, so most stores are open year round. Enjoy.
