Duomo is right in the centre of Milan. Access can be made easily by an excellent underground system. Two underground trains can take you to any district of Milan. I was at Lodi tibb. My underground train took eight minutes into Duomo where the fashion shops are close by and also various good restaurants. If this is your first time... More

This Piazza is very lively and just beautiful with all of the birds. We were lucky to be there for Carnavele and experience all of the children dressed in costume and spraying confetti and foam while dancing in the Piazza!

Loved visiting here. From inside to outside. Wonderful view from the top. Crowded at times (more during the day). At night, it's nice and quiet and relaxing place to hang out.

Architecture was breathtaking and, as churches go, it was lavishly decorated. However, information about the entry process was lacking. The large line in front of the church is to get in and you need to pre-purchase your tickets. Be prepared to wait, it took us over an hour to get in. Shoulders to knees must be covered, otherwise entry will... More

Everything happens at the Piazza deal Duomo. Good restaurants, shopping, the Duomo and metro station. However is always packed with tourists and birds. At night is better because is quieter and not so hot.

This is where it all happens in Milan and is a great place for people watching. The amazing Duomo stands tall and takes up one side of the Piazza. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants around to sit and relax and you will find the Galleria Vittorio Emanuel here too. The Piazza is home to street entertainers, some good... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
