This main square of Milano is always lively and filled with interesting people. There are many, many options for restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and other stores around it. Furthermore, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is right there. The cathedral is breathtaking, and the galleria building is beautiful. It seems that all of Milan converges to it.

This Cathedral is huge, it took six hundred years to complete which I can well believe. We went up on the roof on our first visit took the lift up a lot easier, it's amazing all the sculptures and the art work in the stone walls. We also went inside the next day, mind blowing how big this cathedral is,... More

The Piazza del Duomo is a vast, rectangular paved space (over 183,000 square feet) in front of the Milan Cathedral that represents the main magnet for visitors to the city. It was originally developed in the 14th century, with some later additions and modifications. In addition to the Duomo (on the Northeast side), the Royal Palace is located to the... More

Even being there in the morning or late in the afternoon, the same feeling appears- a majestic piece of art is beyond the crowd of people, happy to be there and share the beauty of a vibrant place. A big piazza, surrounding with majestic buildings, shops, restaurants, bus stations, metro stations. Didn.t like the pigeons and aggressive tall people trying... More

The Piazza is full of people except early in the morning. In the evening the locals also walk around, youth gather on the Duomo steps.

Beautiful Piazza, spent some time exploring this and the Catherdral. We visited early in a Sunday morning so we avoided any crowds.

When visiting Milan, you cannot miss the cathedral in the center of town. Europe has an enormous amount of cathedrals but this one in particular is breathtaking. You must take a tour of the rooftop and check out the amazing architecture. The columns and the artwork inside is equally impressive.

We ate in the piazza at a pavement café which served good food with a lovely view of the cathedral. Many bars and restaurants to visit in the square. A visit to the cathedral is a must especially the rooftop view!!

The quare is very nice, but be careful, It's the best place to be robbed in Milan area. Full of tourists with money with them. All of my friends who have been robbed in Milan, have been robbed in this area (tram, metro, and square)

Thank edwells

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
