What a wonderful museum
Feb 2020 • Friends
This museum is already a piece of art. Situated in a 1930s apartment it is full of art and historic furniture. I actually discovered the museum in a guide booklet and gavebit a go. I must admit: it was totally worth it.
The museum is free. You can donate some money for keeping it the way it is. Volunteers help you to find around but there are also copies/maps in each room explaining what the artworks are called and who painted/created them. I am really in love with this cute museum.

Small but interesting

This is in a former artist's apartment and studio from the inter war years. Nice decorative elements and just full of art from that period. Free. Part of the 4 house pass in Milan.

Appartment or museum
Jun 2019 • Solo
More museum of art than an appartment. This free attraction does not take long to walk around but well worth a stop during your stay. Metro points to exit to get you started but use a map on your phone to locate from there. I could not see any signs on the street.

Lady was very helpful in explaining some of the art and how the collection came about. Sadly no English information cards.

A special place in the heart of Milan!
Aug 2018 • Friends
We visited the four house-museums of Milan, three of which have an entrance fee while Casa Museo Boschi di Stefano is free. The flat is beautifully furnished and has been designed by the architect Piero Portaluppi in the 20's. The walls are completely covered by paintings, collected during the years by the engineer Antonio Boschi who invested the money earned from Pirelli in buying works of art. The wife Marieda Di Stefano was a ceramist. Her atelier is located in the lower floor and has been used for many years as a ceramic school. A special place in the heart of Milan!

Hidden Gem!
Aug 2018 • Solo
Found this place by accident and what a surprise. There are so many artworks crammed onto the walls it takes a bit to let it all sink in. They are amazing - especially if you like 20th century Italian artists. I came away wanting to know more about the owners and their collection - such a fascinating story. A must visit if you are in the city centre - hidden away and unassuming just behind Corso Buenos Aires.

Surprising and interesting flat
Jun 2018 • Solo
Near Lima metro. I had no idea what to expect here but from the welcome on the ground floor, this was an hour os so very well spent, I thought. Of most interest to someone interested in modern art (early to mid-20c), this is a unique sort of museum, home to part of the Boschi/de Stefano collection. The collection was given by the owners to the City Of Milan and the rest of the collection is held by the Novecento museum.

On the ground floor are the artist's studio, laid out presumably as in in the period when used by the artist(s), but the real surprise is in the 2nd or 3rd floor flat which is absolutely stuffed with paintings, sculptures and furniture but still has the feeling of being a home. The welcome in the flat was really good, with a summary of the Boschi/De Stefano lives and collection giving a good context. Not too many things to read here and the guides are happy to give more detailed information if you ask

Art here by many of the great and good of Italian painting. Amazing. Go and look -its even free.
