We were there Saturday afternoon. What a mistake. I have never been anywhere with so many people crammed into one place. I would suggest a visit in the early morning. Didn’t get to see much, just got pushed along with the mob. Will enjoy coming...More

Amazing architecture! Channel, Gucci, Armani and Louis Vuitton shops, a few meters from the Duomo and La Scala theatre.

We visited here on a recent trip to Milan. A stunning piece of art right next to the Duomo. Although it was out of our price range it was interesting to see. It had all the upmarket fashion labels .. Gucci, Armani, channel, etc

This is the second time I visited this place and it is fabulous. I have never once walked into a shop as the building itself is so stunning from the incredible height, to the fresos and the marble floorings. It has beautiful windows, arches and...More

Be sure to walk through when you are already visiting the duomo next door. There are a few restaurants, some fast food, and a few stores. Beautiful architecture and art. There is historical relevance, but I understand most of it is recent/revitalized.

The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square
is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon
of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds
to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria
Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high
quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch
expedition into a royal experience. Head to the
rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the

Hi all, I will be arriving Milan from Venice and be spending 1-2 days there. I have some questions, firstly which station should I arrive in Milan from Venice? Is it the Stazione Centrale? Secondly, I understand to go to the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II , I got to stop at the Duomo station. (am I right?) Where should I stay for convienience? Should I stay near Stazione Centrale or the Duomo area? I will be leaving Milan to Zermatt at the Milano station. Am I right to...More

August 15, Ferragosto - Florence or Milan? (5 Replies)
Hello, unfortunately my travel plan must be scheduled around 8/15, the big holiday when most things are closed. My travel dates are 8/15 to 8/18, and I plan to spend one night in Milan and two nights in Florence. My question is, which city will be better to visit on 8/15? If I am going to Milan first, I will stop by Verona first for half a day, and then in Milan all I plan to do is the Duomo, Last Supper, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and maybe looking to shop a little. If I go to...More

I once spent Ferragosto in Milano and apart from tourists visiting the cathedral, elsewhere it was like a ghost town. That was a long time ago and maybe things have changed but personally I'd opt for Florence, though shopping opportunities are going to be limited besides the tourist places.

Dear Broad, I know there is a Chanel store, 10 minutes from Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, does any one know if there are Chanel counters inside the Galleria (Like NM here in US), I can't find a story directory for the Galleria? Also, someone told me that there is a place in downtown shopping district where you can file your paper to get your tax back, in stead of doing it at the airport. Does any one has the name and address? Thank you very much! Jersey Birds

To get your tax back, you must get the VAT forms stamped by EU Customs officers at the port where you are leaving the EU.
