The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

I often go to Milan from Tuscany, as I have my beloved relatives in the province of Milan!!! - PurwitantoSengata, Indonesia3,076 contributionsBeautiful shopping center in fashion cityShopping center in Piazza Duomo and next to Duomo Milan. The building is old but in good condition so it gives the impression of luxury and elegance. In the main corridor, various luxury goods are lined up as if representing Milan as a fashion city. PRADA, Louis Vuitton, etc. The dome is beautiful and the marble floors are beautiful. Even if you don't shop, it's quite satisfying to walk around here.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten February 27, 2024

The shops are top brands and if you don't have a budget close to 1000 euros there is little to buy. The coffees are beautiful but if you sit down, prepare 40 euros for three coffees in exchange for browsing the atmosphere.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 9, 2024

Atmospheric, beautiful, expensive and rich. Various boutiques of world famous brands, beautiful mosaics on the floor and the smell of money😁 When visiting this place, don’t forget to spin three times on your heel at the lion’s place of origin and make a wish while doing so! Such is the tradition here 😄Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 12, 2024
- Djordje MBelgrade, Serbia1,242 contributionsUnderrated place like the whole cityBefore arrival to Milan, lot of people said there isn't much to see, it's nothing special etc. Without expactations, honestly I was really pleasantly suprised by whole city. I would say Milan is underrated city. There's a lot wide streets, nice parks, great people as well. Galleria Vittorio is also really nice place, exceeds stories and advices online, worth visiting definitlyVisited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 20, 2024
- Debora DiasNatal, RN1,387 contributionsAn indescribable architectural beautyThe Vittorio Emanuele gallery is an ancient shopping gallery in Milan. A beautiful octagonal space with an imposing central glass dome. It's busy all the time, full of tourists who move around frantically. Located in Piazza Del Duomo, it houses the biggest famous brands in Italy, as well as restaurants, cafes, bookstores and an ice cream shop. It has a beautiful architectural beauty. The architect responsible , Mengoni , died after falling from the scaffolding , while carrying out the final adjustments to the gallery 's arch . A true tragedy!Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 23, 2024
- Clarisa KMilan, Ohio6 contributionseleganceStep inside and be awestruck by the soaring glass and iron dome that bathes the interior in a warm glow. The intricate mosaics underfoot and the grand arches adorned with frescoes overhead transport you back to a bygone era of elegance. Keep an eye out for the famous bull mosaic - legend says spinning on its heel brings good luck!Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 28, 2024

We can still do the window shopping, plus the site building was magnificent. This is a must visit site in Milano. - Massimiliano PNovara, Italy46,755 contributionsOne of the symbols of MilanThe Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the most famous and iconic architectural complexes in the city of Milan. Built in the mid-nineteenth century, it is basically a covered passage that mainly connects the Piazza del Duomo with that of the Scala. Characterized by its monumental entrances that look like triumphal arches and by its iron and glass roofs, it is considered the living room of the city. A place of great charm and elegance, in the Galleria there are numerous boutiques and luxury restaurants, definitely not for all budgets. It is impossible to be in Milan and not make at least one visit to this gallery.Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten April 5, 2024
- CarolLisbon, Portugal2,070 contributionsBest of MilanLocated in Piazza del Duomo, this is one of the tourist attractions to visit in Milan. The monument is majestic, with beautiful architecture. Here you will find the oldest shopping arcade in Italy, with several luxury brand stores, such as the first Prada store. It also has restaurants such as the famous Savini, and bars, such as the Camparino bar. The gallery is visited every day by thousands of people. I recommend!Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten April 10, 2024

If you are in Milano, the 2 things you must do are to visit the Duomo Square and see the Duomo and the Galleria right next to it. Of course there are 4 entrances but one of them is there. There are almost all the famous brand shops and restaurants in the Galleria but it is the architecture and design of the building that is so fascinating. The frescoes are also beautiful. It is very crowded in the weekends so plan a week day visit. The restaurants are expensive but you may want to splurge and eat in one of them.

This is one of Milan's 10 must-see sights. The place breathes luxury and glamour with natives well dressed, beautiful accessories and stylish couples. The most expensive guests are in this place and the restaurants are great and expensive, price to pay according to location and space. So, Vc is visiting the most expensive M2 in Milan, you have to pay the price. The architecture is stunning and a place for many photos since tourists are everywhere and with their cell phones in hand to not miss anything, including me....kkkk

We visited a few times here since this is a great meeting place. The best time to visit is early in the morning, if you want to see the beautiful architecture without hoards of tourists. It is simply stunning from top to floor. We walked to admire the mosaic floor.
In the afternoon, you will encounter lots of activities. We found a group of dancers under the dome.
When it is quiet, we got to do the tradition of spinning 3 times on the ball of the bull for good luck. Did not shop at the high end stores, since you can do that in just about any major cities around the world.
There are a lot of restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlor, etc in the galleria. We found them to be less charming and more expensive, so we did not dine here at all. It is definitely worth the visit. Perfect cost: FREE!

It looks spectacularly pretty and elegant. Among the masses currency facades, ceilings and impressive floors, but the option of seeing beyond 20 cm2 free should only be possible at 8 am, and we always went later.
Tourists devour everything and do not get up early enough to appreciate something as beautiful as this.

Only the most expensive brands are here, and most of the visitors are tourists if only to look. Most shops have guards and closed doors. We were inside the Rolex store, but the clerks were so strange and busy with their own images that it was painful to witness.
The mall is smaller than we expected. Sure, it's nice to stroll around and look, but you do it pretty quickly.
Don't miss the bull that you have to spin on your heel three times to get lucky.

In recent weeks I have often visited the Gallery, especially in the early hours of the morning when it is not yet too crowded with tourists, who flock to it in droves even in this period of August. I will not talk about shops and restaurants, such and such is their notoriety. My interest, however, goes all to the aesthetic and artistic aspect of this place, authentic (although now trivialized) "living room of the city". And in fact I never miss an opportunity to admire its architecture, really prodigious and revolutionary for the time, and the very refined decorative apparatus, which almost leaves not even a meter of the walls without ornaments, friezes and statues. Looking up at the four heads of the Octagon it can be fun, especially for children, to observe and recognize the Continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, America), originally painted in fresco, then replaced with the imitation mosaics still present.
If you really want to capture in depth the "soul" of the Gallery - and, in a way, of the city - you can not miss a visit when it is deserted and silent, perhaps at first light or, why not, even earlier.

I returned here this morning, coming from Corso di Porta Romana and heading to Piazza della Scala. As I walked through the Gallery I asked myself how many times I had passed there, considering that the first time was in 1955 (I was nine years old), as soon as the reconstruction and restoration work was completed after the extensive damage suffered during the heavy bombings of 1943.
The shops interest me little, apart from the historic Libreria Bocca (see review) and the other bookshops, nor do I pay attention to the luxury shop windows. What I love, in addition to the sumptuous eclectic architecture and the refined decorations, is the particular atmosphere that you breathe there and which becomes truly unique and special in the "dead" hours, when there is almost no one around. However, when it is packed with passers-by and tourists, the Gallery becomes a privileged observatory from which to perceive how the moods, behaviors and trends of society change over time.
Without understanding all this in depth, digging into the soul of the city, every judgment stops at the surface and immediately slips away.

Two arches covered by a glass dome welcome us to this impressive shopping promenade. The big brands cannot be missing, each one has its premises with shop windows that surprise, as do the high prices. There are also some options to eat or drink. Its construction dates back to the 19th century, between 1865 and 1877. Don't forget to go around completely, with your right foot and your eyes closed on the bull that is located in the central mosaic for good luck.

Great Milanese cuisine and ambience. I ordered the Risotto Milanese - yellow saffron, sausage with red wine, and Peach mousse.
Friendly and prompt service. They politely ask us if we can finish by 10 pm as they have block booking for the performers from nearby theater.

Since it was rebuilt in the mid-1950s after the disastrous bombings of 1943, "the Gallery" has never known a moment of rest. I can't even imagine how many people have passed through here in the last seventy years, obviously not counting the previous period, which began with its opening to the public in 1867.
For me too, the "quater pass in Galerìa" rituals began almost seventy years ago, perpetuating themselves over time and in the continuous change of habits and customs. Again this morning I passed through here to reach Piazza della Scala and Via Manzoni, stopping to observe a couple of shop windows and some imaginative menus on display, but above all the incessant flow of people, mainly made up of tourists and many school groups of all age.
An obligatory destination to begin the not easy but necessary understanding of our city.
