The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

We Need a Rinascente here in US!
Amazing Department Store! Do not miss the 7th floor Food Court. We had lunch there twice at De Santis Cafe, best sandwiches ever and only 10 euro! Bring a bunch of fabulous food items home, olive oil, pastas, sauces, wow you will be stunned at the variety at this store. The only issue we had was that it was very crowded and a bit noisy at the food court but it seemed all of Milan was crazy crowded.

    A departmental store ...!
A department store with its various sections as found elsewhere in this model of retail. We visited during the winter sale time and was it crowded! Got to take care of your belongings and be self-aware. The place has one building dedicated to high-end luxury and premium brands and a connected annexe building accessed through its second floor with the other more accessible ones . The selection was varied enough though the buying experience differed from staff to staff. One was confused whether discount is available, other was a bit irritated on being asked to fetch a choice to some others who were very helpful and patient with us. Cash section was helpful in exchange of a product that needed an exchange due to a wrong size given by the sales staff earlier. Overall a decent experience if one is willing to be a bit patient and tolerant!

I was in La Rinanascente and looking for a quick meal as I had to pack for my flight the next day. I was alone and was told by the hostess there were no available tables, that the wait would be one hour and that another restaurant on the same floor offered the same menu as Obika'. This was absolutely false as confirmed by the hostess at the other restaurant, who couldn't believe I was told this.

I went back to tell the hostess at Obika', and decided to wait a few minutes to see if a table would become available. While I waited, several couples were seated. I brought this to the attention of the hostess and told her this was discrimination. She got nervous and told me to wait and she'd ask her colleague, but I'd had enough, told her arrivederci and left. I had a very nice meal at Replay nearby.

We stayed at a hotel across the street, and dinner here one night was good. However, we went in about 3 times over 4 days, and each time we would shop, a tall security guard would pop up and stand facing us with his feet spread and hands over crotch like one of the Temptations about to break into a song. I would have shopped here but for that guy, I really don’t like being treated like a shoplifter

Pretty chaotic. No indications as to where you might find what you are looking for, down escalator out of order, no signs of which floor you are on or where the stairs are.
Hopelessly disorganised. Not impressed, this is a big shop with a lot of tourists - TRY HARDER.

This large department store is across the street from the Duomo and a lot less expensive than the designer shops. I found some beautiful towels and fragrant soaps. Highly recommend shopping here.

If we wanted the food waiter said an hour wait time, but for drinks quicker. And so we had baileys ice coffee on the roof top, it was delicious and the view is breathtaking. Fabulous place if you donf have time to go up to Duomo cathedral.

The staff was really rude. The woman behind the register took her time to finish her tasks first before She helped me, it took really long. Then there should be a discount on the item she didnt’t give because i needed a card. Then the security yelled really angry at us because we took the wrong exit. Not good !!!

Great shopping, very much like Sefridges in London.
Good choice of brands, rather expensive.
Very crowded.

One tip: ask cashier to open La Rinascente card for you before your purchase (there are many types, you may need a visitor one) - it gives you 10% on almost all brands.
