Alessandro Manzoni was an Italian writer, a leading representative of Italian Romanticism. His most famous work is the historical novel of the Bride and Groom, from the history of Lombardy. Manzoni, initially associated with the libertine movement and Enlightenment atheism, suddenly converted with his wife.

Thius monument is in the centre of MIlan, very close to the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II. It is important to remember on one of the great writers of iTaly in the 19.th century.

The 19th century writer and poet Alessandro Manzoni was one of the most prominent figures of the Italian Risorgimento movement and among the greatest Milanese citizens. His statue was built in 1883 by Francesco Barzaghi, the Lombard sculptor.

This is an ordinary statue, located in a quiet little square in central Milan. While the statue provides several nice photo-ops, it's not that exciting.
