Mantua (Mantova) isn’t a city often included in North Italy itineraries. We visited it on our way from Parma to Verona. Arriving from the north you’ll stumble on the city Skyline. Has great views from across the river of this little not so popular Italian...More

Magnificent view when arriving by car from Ferrara. We had mitigated weather and yet the scenery was just stunning. Allas, Italian drivers are a pain in the neck and the places for foot goers scarce...so try your chance without loosing your life :-)

This is a wonderful, quirky and historic place to visit. Mantova will not let you down as it has a mix of everything shops, street markets, restaurants, cathedrals and castles to visit.

The view of the city walls and ducal palace as we were driving in was spectacular. My wife and I have traveled all over Italy and have never seen anything like it.

This is another place worth a visit if you are into medieval architecture. The place has a lovely feel to it, but still full of modern day bustle. Lots of little side streets, cafes and individual shops, with plenty of cafes along the way.

Yes, it is worth walking out of town to look back and see a view of the town from across the lake. It is a beautiful view , looks very medieval. You leave the hussle and bussle of the town behind, although there is some...More
