A big park in the heart of Mantova. Very beautiful and lovely. You can walk, rest and think into nature.

On the day of our visit, there was a food fair in a portion of the park. We enjoyed several Sicilian sweets and pastries. At least one school had an outing there and the children were enjoying the playground. The park features a monument to the poet Virgil, which is sadly in need of better upkeep. Still, we enjoyed our stroll and recommend it.

We arrived by car, and we parked just next to this park, I was unaware of the huge statue of Virgilio; very imponent, and actually a nice park where you certanly can do a small pause and a nice picnic.

If you park along the river in Mantua, where there is ample free parking, you can walk directly through Piazza Virgiliana to get into the city center. It’s called a piazza, but it is actually a small park with lots of grass and trees and a few monuments. It’s actually a very pleasant place to stroll or just sit and relax.
