Defo worth a visit. So easy to get to in the centre of Sirmione. Views from the top are spectacular!

There is lots to see and lots of photo opportunities at scaliger castle. We did the castle and the grotte di catullo on a double ticket for 12 euros which was really good value. You also don't pay for under 18s. My only 2 niggles...More

Make sure you visit on the first sunday of the month if you can, it's free entry. We really enjoyed this little trip, nice views of Sirmione from the top of the castle.

Would recommend the €12 combined ticket for this and the Roman ruins with the Roman ruins being the better of the two. This is well worth a half hour run around the battlements and towers. There is little in the way of story board info...More

Basically - you walk up the stairs and then there is a nice view of the town. It was an old castle but relatively unimpressive in and by itself. Not free entry, which drags down.

As other reviewers have suggested the Castle, and indeed Sirmione itself, gets very crowded so it’s best to visit soon after it opens 9:15 on most days. Views from the tower are impressive and cover the lake and town. The steps are rather steep another...More

Having to climb around 5 floors first before you see the fantastic view of entire Sirmione and lower part of Lake Garda.

Unfortunately the visit of the castle has been “ruined” from the quantity of people around. Frankly I think that they should have time tickets so that you can enjoy the visit. Saying this the 13th century castle is wonderful and very instructive to see it.

The view from the top of the castle gives you a great view of the Garda lake and the ancient Sirmione. Impressive defensive building with a great a view once you make it to the top.

There is an entrance ticket to the archaeological site. The castle is in the centre of the village, you can't miss it. There are toilet facilities too.

Take a look at the working hours for the castle on their web pages... I went to Scalinger Castle in the summer, and on Sunday it was working only till 13h.
