Stumbled upon it. Very peaceful, surrounded by olive groves. It is small but certainly worth a short visit.

along the paths to the ruins, take time to come up to the church. Music playing sets the mood for the soft frescoed walls, old benches with worn places where thousands of feet have rested over the years,,,

The church is only a few yards from the Main Street, up a little side road, but is worth stopping off for a few minutes to enjoy a bit of tranquility and admire the lovely frescos on the walls.

A beautifully peaceful church up a tranquil side road. Definitely worth a visit. It’s on the way to Grotte di Catullo and near Lido Del Bionde.

Worthing visiting on your walk back from the Grotte di Catullo, the church itself is quite simple, dating back to the 8th century with the bell tower dating to the 11th/12th centuries.

The glory of this church are the frescos, those in the apse from around the same time as the bell tower and currently undergoing restoration, those on the nave walls dating from the 14th century.

The modern bell and cannon recalls those who died in the 2nd World War.

This charming church is worth a few minutes on the way to or from the Roman villa ruins. Quite and serene location with some beautiful stain glass windows and art. At time of writing beginning of June there was an artist restoring the images above the alter.

Quite, serene and respectful of those who have passed. Especially fallen soldiers.

Beautiful frecos, music and setting of this ancient church.

Worth a visit for the peace and tranquillity here.
