Terme Virgilio is definitely worth a visit if you feel like you need to relax and refresh yourself in a serious way, for example after walking a long time looking at all the sights! This modern establishment is set in the beautiful old town of Sirmione, close to the end of the peninsula, and to the sights, on the shore of Lake Garda. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery while you take a plunge in the different pools on the lakeside or sit in the many saunas they have, as the saunas have huge windows.
It is not cheap - but it is worth the price. If you don't have all day, you can spend 1,5 hours there for 28 euros. However, if you don't have your own flip-flops, they make you buy theirs which were not cheap, and they don't seem to have all the sizes either.
They have a handy and safe system where you store all your clothes and bags in a big sack which is then hung in a motorized system and nobody else can get their hands on your stuff while you enjoy your bath so can feel secure about your belongings. The staff in the dressing room did not speak English so I had some trouble finding out how to proceed but with the help of some women clients I finally understood the system. I am not sure how hygienic their system was as people do not necessarily shower so well before going in the pool - if you take just a gentle shower with your bathing suit on that does not properly cleanse you!
These people know how to spoil you! There are so many different pools of slightly different temperatures, outside and inside, some with jacuzzis, and the spa also has beds to rest in, saunas, and a whole lounge upstairs where you can just lie on wide beds and even take a nap if you like! The saunas were interesting, with different styles and smells and temperatures. I liked the one outside best; there was a nice herbal smell and a lovely lake scene to look at. They also had special showers called 'warm breeze' where you get a little infrared warming experience while being sprayed lightly with water - that was a novelty to me, and a nice one too.
They also have treatments to book and products to sell but I did not try those. Maybe next time! Locals seemed to bring even very small children to the warm baths but I think adults would find it more enjoyable. I am not sure what they charge from kids though. I think you can easily spend a lovely relaxing day here, as there is also a cafe in the premises.

I loved this despite only staying the minimum time as my husband waited in the park next door! It's very well organised, clean, luxurious & so relaxing.

Thermal inhalation and aerosol treatments and hot mud therapy in a spaveous and well run facility that will restore health and well-being. Suitable for all ages and various medical specialists to help you find the right treatment plan. Lovely gardens and fresh vegetable juices available.
