Unfortunately, the villa where the famous opera singer Maria Callas lived wonderful days was turned upside down a long time ago and transformed into a luxury condominium. The interior spaces and furnishings no longer exist. You can only look at the exterior and imagine it in its former glory.

Unfortunately, you cannot visit Maria Callas's palazzo. The beautiful yellow stately home is located directly on the way to the Grottoes of Catullus. In front of the house is the Maria Callas Park with a beautiful view of the lake. The walk is worth it.

Maria Callas (1223-1977) use to live here in Sirmione between 1950 and 1959 when she was married with the Italian Giovan Battista Meneghini. She loved this city and the city remembers her with this palace, a garden , restaurants, coffee shop and several activities

The palace is named after the great opera singer Maria Callas and it is located on the beautiful Piazza Carducci, full of nice cafes and restaurants. The exterior of the building is not very appealing, but the interior...
Being a football fan, I couldn't miss the opportunity to visit an exhibit dedicated to one of the greatest Italian football players of all times - Paolo Rossi. I was still a kid and not interested in football when Rossi led Italy to winning the World Cup in 1982 and played for the club which I now support, so for me it was very interesting, exciting and fascinating to see all the memorabilia from that period: the uniforms, training kits and, of course, personal awards - World Cup Golden Ball and Golden Boot, Ballon d'Or and others. There were also other items from 70s and 80s. It was an excellent exhibition!
There are other exhibitions taking place in the palace, so if there's one when you visit - don't miss the chance to visit one!

Sirmione - a little town in the south of the Garda Lake. My impressions? Simply breathtaking views. Lots of parking places, unfortunatelly majority not for free - 1,8 euro per hour. Not bad, but consider you will stay there several hours. The castle (6 euro entrance fee for adults) but views compensate everything. Walking paths along the shore, mountains on the other side of the lake with white tops (snow), and the italian atmosphere - this is what you can expect from Sirmione. Oh, also very important - lots of place to sit, drink caffe or have lunch. When travelling in vicinity of Garda, Sirmione is a MUST.

There is not much publicity on the exhibition around Sirmione.
It is remarkable if you like the villages around the lake.
I saw it twice, the second time after going on a boat outing on both sides: Garda, Torri, Cargnano.
You see the lake at different times of the day, details you hadnt noticed.
The photos are on two floors.
They are all excellent.

The Palazzo is used for exhibitions such as photography, these are worth checking. The piazza is very pleasant and gets busy due to good range of restaurants. It is also the departure point for the lake boats so lots of people at times. Nice place to stop for a drink and to people watch.

There were signs around the town advertising the exhibition. We had to ask at the Information Office for the location of the Palazzi as we had been past Maria Callas's house earlier, which is still private.
We are glad that we did as the two floors of the Palazzi were showing an enjoyable exhibition of photographs 'The Italy of Legends - 1000 Miglia and Scuderia Ferrari', mille miglia meaning one thousand miles, making you think of racing cars and, in Italy, this obviously means Ferrari, and commemorating the 1000 mile race started in 1927 from Brescia to Roma and back again.

Lovely place to stroll around, it has many cafes/restaurants and is also housing a photographic exhibition. It gets very busy at times, particularly when the boats arrive or depart.
