This used to be one of the most amazing places to visit or just sit and relax. I have visited many times and always enjoyed the peace and the beauty of the place. We made the mistake to came during August. It was a disaster. The place crowded with vulgar german tourist, behaving like animals. One of them was flying a drone making so much noise and taking picture of anything. Plus dirty with parents allowing their children to pee around. The spiaggia was a very small area just off the coastal walkway, but we did see several families enjoying a dip. The passegiata is a coastal walkway which leads from the back of the Scaligero Caste towards Lido Delle Bionde, which is a larger public swimming beach with a beach cafe/restaurant. Along the way, you also pass some hot springs at the lakeside which can be accessed from the walkway. Turn inland at the Lido Delle Bionde Restaurant and find yourself near the entrance to the ticket counter for the Grotte di Catullo. The walk took about 15-20 mins. Very pleasant walk, lovely views of the lake and Scaligero Castle, rocky beach... the water is so clean that you can see fish swimming close to the lake shore.
