A great place for a walk in very well kept gardens. It is worth exploring all the paths as they are at different levels and contain different plants as well as fabulous views over Lake Como.

This villa has a very beautiful garden and lake view. The house inside is nice too. It would be more interesting if there were a tour provided.

We went on a pretty May day. The house wasn't open but the gardens were awake with blooms. Incredible views of the lake and a tranquil setting. The staff was starting to plant annuals in the innumerable beds...do come June July and Augustl

We visited for the first time in 8 years. I'd forgotten how pleasant the gardens are. Carved out of a relatively narrow strip of land on the lakeside. Spectacular nonetheless. And the views? To die for.. But that's Como for you. Lovely part of the...More

The gardens were very nicely maintained and much bigger than we have imagined. The house was stunning too, with gorgeous authentic details. Great place to visit for beautiful lake Como views.

I don't want to be a Debby Downer, but I was unimpressed with Villa Monastero. It needs a little TLC. The only impressive thing is its location on Lake Como.

Great leisurely walk through the gardens on the waterfront of Lake Como. Little cafe on site for a glass of wine, dessert or coffee.

The villa is in a stunning place and offers probably one of the nicest views over the lake. Yet the garden becomes, the farer you get away from the entrance, shabbier, which is a pity. The house is well kept though and interesting to visit....More

We were staying in Menaggio so we took the ferry to Varenna. This took less than 20 mins and was very cheap and a lovely way to see the lake.
