Best Varenna gardens!

Great way to stroll the lakeside villa promenade and enjoy the wonderful flora. For garden lovers, probably the best venue other than Villa Cipressi

We thought we would have a wander in the gardens as we were already in Varenna but didn't realise just how beautiful they were. The most outstanding were the different varieties of white hydrangeas, one that was fragrant . A tranquil visit we are glad we stopped by for.

We visited at a time when the villa itself was closed but the garden was open, and thought it was well worth the 5 euro admission price. The garden is lovely with beautiful views of the lake and of Varenna (from the far end). Also offers a few benches and a cafe with outdoor seating where you can relax and... More

Lovely gardens - quiet location so you can really take in the gardens and of course the views. Would highlight recommend a visit - we only went in the gardens for 5 euros each .. This was fine for us it can't comment on the building inside.

I love the succulents and garden here. My husband and I paid 8 euros each to enter this beautiful villa and checked out the art museum. It was worth it. Amazing views, great temples and clean facilities. Definitely recommend checking out this place!

Our favourite out of all the justly famous gardens of Lake Como. Tranquil, absolutely stunning, plenty of colour and the lakeside views on a sunny afternoon were like paradise. Like Bellagio's Villa Melzi, it's a long 'thin' garden streching about a kilometre along the lake shore, revealing new wonders every few metres. Unlike Melzi it has a cafe. The Italians... More

Sprawling grounds right on the waterfront. 5 euro to get in (grounds only). Extra to walk through monastery. There is a cafe with outside tables right near the water. Location of garden is right near Varenna town piazza. Restrooms.

Worth visiting on a day when the villa as well as the garden is open. The villa is quite interesting and you are given some insights as to life there a hundred yeas ago. The gardens are also beautiful.

Beautiful gardens a short walk away from the town square. Beautiful setting right on the lake, it is stunning!

Strolling through these well-maintained gardens and stopping at all the lakeside vistas on a sunny June morning was just perfect. Villa Monastero is very easy to walk to when in Varenna and really enjoyable.
