Chef Moreno's restaurant is situated in a small, quaint hilltop town outside of Varenna. He picked us up at the ferry dock, and drove a van full to meet others at the restaurant. Chef Moreno immediately made us feel and act as one big family. As he taught us how to make ravioli, veal loin, and exquisite risotto, he was... More

I am a decent home cook, who took this course with my husband, who cooks nothing. We both had a great time and learned a lot from Chef Moreno. Moreno is fastidious in his teaching, particularly about kitchen cleanliness. In addition, Moreno made the course very entertaining, with a humor that is worthy of its own television cooking show. Moreno... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Lake Como. Chef Moreno is charming and you learn a lot more than just the actual recipes being prepared that day. Lots of interesting tips. You will leave STUFFED with great food and with a little printed recipe book from the class. He drove us over to Castle Vezi after... More

I booked this class for my sisters and I a few weeks ago. The chef is quite the character himself, very charming and funny. Fascinating that he has lived his whole life in the same village where he and his family run the restaurant and cooking class. You start with coffee and cookies, have a lovely like snack of prosciutto,... More

We had read the reviews and made sure that we booked in advance. This was such a memorable experience and I am grateful for Chef Moreno for his hard work, sense of humour, love of food, and recipes which are safely sitting in my in box! We were picked up exactly as agreed at the Port. There was quite a... More

We cannot recommend the cookery class at Il Caminetto with Chef Moreno. We were picked up at the ferry dock by his wife Rosella and met a great group of people for the class. We covered the globe with travelers from Australia, Singapore, London, and the US. The day starts with coffee and conversation. Then the cooking demonstration starts. On... More

Chef Moreno's cooking class and life lessons were the highlight of my time in Italy. He conveniently picked us up at the ferry port and drove us to his quaint village and adorable restaurant. His wife and daughter were very hospitable. The risotto, tortellini and veal was the best I've ever tasted! I not only learned how to make delicious... More

A full day of presentation and observation ending with a beautiful, delicious diner (following a yummy lunch with wine, of course). Maximum class size is 14 so everyone gets to see chef teach and prepare as he entertains with a steady patter of lessons and charm. Free transport from Varenna ferry terminal to restaurant high in the hills in the... More

What a fantastic day out. We read the reviews and they are spot on. Moreno picked us up from the Piazza at 10 in the morning and we were entertained from then until we were dropped off at 5pm. He and his family are wonderful people. The food was great, the cooking class excellent, the wine flowed freely and it... More

This was a great day, an amazing host and a fab cooking class! We had such fun and Moreno (the chef) is an absolute diamond! I recommend for all and anyone.
