While the Palazzo was closed the day we visited we were very taken by the historic centre of Lecco, not as touristy as Bellagio of Varenna, with very much the feel of a working town. The piazza in front of the Palazzo is full of cafes and a great placce to sit in the sun and people-watch. Then go for a stroll along the lakefront. A very pleasant little town. If you're driving from Como to Varenna it makes for an excellent coffee of lunch stop.

It takes its name from the fact of being the place where people went to pay taxes in the past. Its architecture is important and pretty interesting. It's located in the heart of Lecco, next to the touristic info point. Inside it has a permanent modern art exposition, which I liked a lot, and on the third floor there's the museum of Alpine activities (I was not very interested in it, but I have to admit that it's very accurate, interactive and well organized). In this period there's also the exposition of Doisneau, a French photographer. This ticket isn't included in the entrance ticket to the modern art museum + the Alpine activities, and costs 9€ itself. In my opinion it has really been worthy, because even though I didn't know this photographer before, I enjoyed his pictures very much and watching a video with his voice talking about his life in Paris and his experiences.
Talking again about the palace, one night we could enjoy an outdoor show of vertical dance, live music and projection on the main wall of this building (free performance, included in the program of an artistic festival organized in this period in Lecco).

The center is nice
You can walk in the evening and very nice.
There are many people and music from restaurants.
There are places to sit and drink for food.
Nice to sit in the evening and eat.
In general one can spend an hour or two enough.
:)

Little or nothing to see, mostly used for temporary exhibitions that can be more or less interesting, don't drive two hours to go there...

The Palazzo dele Paure hosts artistic exhibitions of the highest quality. It deserves to be publicized more.
