OCTOBER 2019:
This small bar / cafe is situated along Lake Como, next to the public pool and the Villa Olmo. Great views.
The food is cheapish, but the quality of the food reflects the price. I ordered the ragu bolognese tagliatelle, and a coke. The pasta was horrible as was the meat inside. My friend ordered a panini which was dry and a coffee. [I do not have photos of her food]. The coffee was pod Nespresso coffee which was ok, same as what you get in many hotels.
Great for anyone on a budget.

Our hotel recommended the Terrace Olmo, part of the Lido Villa Olmo, as a place to eat one evening. It's an interesting place in the evening, in October a little chilly!
I found the food to be excellent, it's well-priced and tasted good. The prices are good, it's typical Italy where you get good quality and good prices.
It was quite empty which meant there was little atmosphere and nothing to dull over the fact that the only other occupied table was letting their children watch movies on a tablet while they were eating......
Very reasonable, if they can heat the place :)

I give this score for the view, the service does not deserve.
I didn't go to the pool today, but my daughter and other friends were in it. I go at 1730 and ask to come in for a drink. They told me I had to pay the ticket to get in. Okay, there are rules, but we're people and you have to assess the circumstances. Non ci andrò mai più. Better Mendrisio, or other beaches in Switzerland, costs half, super service and if you want you can just have a drink, as in all the beaches elsewhere.

Unfortunately, this is the one and only place to swim in Como.. We paid 26 euros (2 adults and 2 young people) to have access to a lawn square (free deckchairs , deckchairs pay extra ) and access to the lake (beware no beach! 6 stone steps and it is the lake directly, with lots of very slippery pebbles and rocks) Swimming pool accessible with cap only. in short, Far too expensive for the service..it is better to go further in the villages (Bellagio for example). Disappointed...

We struggled to find much information online about the lido so walked down there from central Como on a Saturday lunchtime hoping it would be open. There are various pricing options; we paid for entry to ‘the meadow’ and laid out towels on the grass. There were also wooden picnic benches available for use. The pool was lovely and clean, and a pleasant temperature. Swimming caps are mandatory but you can buy them for €3.50. In addition to the pool there is a small area in the lake cordoned off for swimming, and a gravel ‘beach’ with more sunbeds. Showers and toilets weren’t great but did the job. Lovely place, would happily return.

Unfortunately the reviews here not read first! Admission on the lawn (if you can call it that) without sunbed and umbrella 10.00 Euro . UIn the lake you can get 10 on 50. Difficult entry, outside the barrier is prohibited access to only with swimming cap. Dirty facility. Children are just allowed to pee on the buildings the supervisor looks away. Not recommended.

We have just had a lovely day at the lido. The prices, which we felt were fair, were explained to us on arrival by a kind friendly man. Then another member of staff, equally friendly and helpful, excorted us to the grassed area and erected the parasol and chairs exactly where we wanted to be.
We first went to the lake swimming area which had a life guard. Were not surprised by the stones and rounded rocks as this is normal for lake side swimming. Yes the lake could be cleaner, but needs the cooperation of many bodies and resources in a coordinated plan. It was lovely to cool off.
Next to the swimming pool, which was clean and well serviced by attentive pool staff.
Drinks and food were reasonable priced, surprising lower than we expected.
A big thank you to all the staff we met today, and for the friendly goodbye when we left.
A highly recommended experience, we will be back!

The place is overpriced for what it can offer. Nice that we could rent a sun bed and great view, but that’s it. Bathing area (the beach) is awful. Bottom is full of big slimy stones, my feet are hurting still. Can hardly walk in there without breaking your legs. And I was carrying a baby, so it was double trouble. Entry in water is through the stone steps. Water was dirty. Not kids friendly. Maybe we could have fun in a pool, but you have to have a bathing cap, my head and hair are big and no cap can accommodate it, so I couldn’t be in the pool. We paid 32€ cuz came outside of peak time. Still I think it’s too much, you can find much nicer places for the same price.

very negative evaluation because the place as a location is very nice, but a few days ago they changed a rule that says that only people from 16 years old and if minors must be accompanied by an adult who must enter and stay inside. It's not so much the rule that bothers me but it's the fact that until a week ago I 14-year-old entered without any problem, paying my ticket. Instead today I arrive and I am told that I cannot enter without an adult, and being that the adults who were with me were gone but who still could not stop I had to leave. And lastly, when I asked for an explanation, I got none. I'm sorry I had to evaluate the lido of villa elmo in this way.

Terrible! Parking 13€ for a day and for 2 cots and a parasol 40€. The beds are right next to each other so turning with the sun is a challenge.
Do not go there with small children because you can only swim in the lake via stairs. However, you can (if you pay the 40€) also use the swimming pool. A swim cap is mandatory there. There is a place where you can buy something on food and drinks but for that you definitely pay the top price.
All in all, we did not think it was a success.

Will the Lido be open in January? Is there any place for winter/cold water swimming in Como?
