We had a wonderful day that started with shopping for ingredients in the local markets. This was such a unique and exceptional start to the day. We then went back to the cooking school and began making our masterpieces. We made bruchetta (different than I have ever tasted), homemade tagliatelle with bolognese sauce (my favorite) and finished it off with strawberry tiramisu! I mentioned that I did not like coffee so Christina and Elisabetta suggested strawberry. It was amazing. The best part of it all is that we were able to include our two little kids (2 and 4 year olds) in this experience too! They even had toys for the kids and Chef Christina had them help every step of the way. The kids LOVED IT (and so did Mommy and Daddy)! 5 plus stars!

This is a great experience from start to finish. Easy access, close to the where the ferries come to Bellagio. If you want a hands-on (as opposed to watching someone cook) unrushed entertaining experience, this is the one to choose.
First, Daniella took us shopping to the butcher shop (meat, cheese and salami), then to the baker for bread, then to the produce shop for fresh vegetables. It was so enjoyable to walk the streets and shop from neighborhood shops as opposed to the Supermarket. She also gave a most enjoyable tour as we made our way through town, part history, part local color, all entertaining!
Once back at the school, Christina was our instructor. What a delight! Funny, charismatic, patient and a great chef. She walked us thru every step of making our own bruschetta (yeah, I am sure you think its just some tomato on bread - you won't after this!), bolognese sauce, tagliatelle pasta, and tiramisu. She showed us how and then we did it - it is a hands-on experience. Dress casually and comfortably - they provide you with aprons, which you keep as a souvenir. We enjoyed our bruschetta, cheese, salami with prosecco (and a little more prosecco) and our meal with plenty of Valtellina Superiore (very nice, light/medium bodied local red wine).
It was a great value by any measure. More food than anyone could eat, plenty to drink, and 6-hrs of entertainment (we were scheduled for 10:30am to 3pm, but did not leave till after 4pm). We left full, with our school aprons and personalized diplomas in hand, and smiles on our faces. I wish there was something higher than 5 stars available since this experience truly deserves it.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our cooking class with Elisabetta at Gusto Italiano Bellagio.
There were only four of us in the class, allowing us ample opportunity for hands-on cooking, lots of laughter and interaction.
Elisabetta is a local who is very passionate about cooking, fresh ingredients and her home town of Bellagio. She has a very bubbly personality and a delightful young women and a wonderful teacher.
We started the class with a trip to the local shops to purchase the ingredients to make bruschetta, ravioli, tagliatelle, and tiramisu. It is a very hands-on class, just fantastic.
The class started at 10.30, we left at 3.45 after cooking and then enjoying the meal and wine on the vine covered patio.
Our cooking class with Elisabetta was a highlight of our trip to Bellagio, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This day was amazing from beginning to end. It isn't just an amazing cooking class, it is also a mini history of Bellagio..which we completely enjoyed. To understand a little more of changes that have taken place. Then, the cooking...well, this is amazing. I thought I knew how to cook Bolognese, and if you do too, then you are in for a lesson in simplicity and full sensorial cooking. "Listen the meat sounds like this when you first put it in, sizzling, then it releases water and sounds like this...then wait, wait..when sizzling again you are able to put the wine in, only then will it take up flavour while the alcohol burns off..." And so it continues. We cooked Bolognese with 6 ingredients to get a flavour that normally takes me about a million.so natural, so clean and so amazingly yummy. Egg pasta from scratch -not as hard as it seems and totally doable at home now I have learned. And let's give a shout out to the tiramisu, oh my word...again mystique taken away and totally repeatable without hesitation. So you are educated culturally, you learn to cook things that you will do again, and you laugh, have a great time and get to understand a little of Bellagio life...thank you Elisabeth, thank you...only slight suggestion -sell the pasta roller 😁 you definitely would have one customer that day!!! So special and fun

Both my husband I and had a fabulous day learning some Italian home cooking secrets. Our teacher for the day was Diana and she was very friendly and a great hostess. The food and wine was fantastic and the Shopping/Cooking experience was one of our highlights on our European Holiday. Thank you Gusto Italiano. Strongly recommend to everyone visiting in the Lake Como region to take this class, you won't be disappointed. :-)

My friend and I did this class with Elisabetta in August 2016. Our group was 6 people in total which was a great number to create a fun atmosphere. Silvana took us shopping for the best ingredients and then we spent the morning cooking up a storm. The explanations were clear and simple to follow. At the end, the food was fabulous. A wonderful cooking experience with fun, laughter and conversation thrown in. Thank you!

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our class with you on 22nd August. We had a good laugh in good company and really enjoyed our meal. Looks like we will have to invest in a pasta maker now!

Both Elisabetta and Daniela were wonderful. So enjoyed learning how to make ravioli and loved going into the local market to buy ingredients. We loved talking with others in our class that were traveling the area. Worth taking the time out of sightseeing or sunbathing!

Such a lovely thing to do if you're in Bellagio. We spent about 5 hours cooking which included going to the local shops and some good tips on good meat/cheese to buy. Then the cooking. Broken up by picking on cheese and wine!
Great company. Great food.
A must do!

My husband were on a 3 week trip through Europe with 2 of our friends. The cooking class at Gusto Italiano was easily the highlight of our trip! We had so much fun and Elisabetta was so kind to us. We made bruschetta, spinach and cheese ravioli and tiramisu for dessert. The class was about 5 hours from start to finish. We also enjoyed some amazing wines with our meal. By the end of the class we were all confident in our pasta making skills and were excited to go home and recreate the amazing meal for our families. If we return to Lake Como we will definitely be back for our next lesson. I highly recommend visiting Gusto Italiano even if your staying as far as Milan.

I've emailed but not heard back just yet - how far in advance is best to book? Thanks
Ciao!
I am just wondering whether it is possible for you to accommodate for a vegetarian? I am more than happy to make my food separately :)
Grazie mille!
