100% recommend this experience as the first thing you should do in Bellagio! Seeing Lake Como from the kayak was incredibly beautiful and tranquil. Mich allowed us to go at our own pace and stop to take photos whenever we wanted and even took a few of his own to share with us. He was extremely knowledgable about the area and added so much value to our experience, even giving us wine and local cuisine recommendations!! The business has now been operating for over 10 years and we were given a beautiful anniversary gift.
Definitely a must do in Lake Como!

My partner booked this as a surprise for my birthday - it was our first time in Italy and in Lake Como.

We were greeted on time by our tour guide Mitch with our requested paddle boards! Mitch was fantastic, he ensured he answers all our questions, gave some great lessons on the history of Bellagio and surrounding areas and made sure we had the best time possible on the water - we did not feel rushed either.
He even had a surprise for us on the water which you will have to book yourselves to find out!

Following the tour he gave us some good recommendations for food and drinks in the area including a fantastic wine bar in the town that is a must!

The photos do not do it justice and if you’re going to Bellagio a tour with Mitch is a must!

Thanks for the experience and sorry the review is so late!

Best wishes

Joe and Katie.

I guess its a little silly to leave another review of how fabulous the experience was with the 300 others but why not.

We stumbled across Michele's shop and rang him about renting 2 kayaks. He showed up 20 minutes later, gave us the kayaks and life preservers and water bottles and we were on our way. He told us exactly where to go and how long and what to look at, and we were off. Wonderful person, wonderful experience, wonderful location. Keep supporting this business !!!

These people have no idea of customer service. They advertise you can rent solo. I turned up to the office at 11am. It was closed. I phoned the mobile. On a tour back at midday I was told. I turned up midday and asked to hire solo. Sorry can only go on a guided tour which did not start for 45 minutes and was for two hours. Well I did have three hours when I first arrived but not now. A sign on the door would have saved me a wasted morning. Rick Steve not only recommends this place but assures the solo hire aspect. I can tell you Rick it is not true. The whole thing was an utter schemozzle.

Dear Warwick H, with more than 300 positive reviews on TripAdvisor this is first negative one, this could be start point for a further positive development. I work only upon confirmed booking and last minute call is not best idea. Furthermore I never start a tour on Lake Como with bad weather conditions. Before your request I was already out on the lake guiding an excursion which was booked by a numerous group much earlier.

This is a refreshing way to explore Lake Como. It was surprisingly relaxing and peaceful. Michele is very experienced and will happily customise the tour to suit your preferences. He also assists in entering and exiting your kayak ensuring you don't get wet. This activity is suited to the first time kayaker. You will get to see parts of the lake foreshore not accessible by foot or larger boats. A memorable experience!

There's no better way to spend two hours than with Michele - the owner of Bellagio Watersports. Not only good exercise, but informative and relaxing, Michele offers several kayak tours that offer a unique view of Bellagio and the lake. As Michele is fluent in English and has lived in Bellagio all of his life, he has unmatched knowledge of the area. I highly recommend this experience and Bellagio Watersports. Che figata!

This stop was just what we were looking for! My family is always one to get off the beaten path and find some quiet points with nature. Kayaking on Como was just that, even more so than the busy water taxis, as fun as they were. We went out for about 2 hours and felt that was enough time if not a little short, although had we more we would have gone farther up the coast to see the stretch of villas.
Also, to speak to the owner, Mich is a great person to rent from. He came out on his motor bike to guide my family to his club when we couldn't find it at first. Very polite and knowledgeable, I would definitely rent from him should I get to Como again.

I was looking for a cool rowing experience with my two children who love to row in the United States. Mich Gandola is an expert sculler, member of the Bellagio Rowing Club, and owner of Bellagio Water Sports. Mich took us out in a coastal 4x for an absolutely epic row on Lake Como! We started from the Bellagio Rowing Club boathouse in San Giovanni, the nearby town to Bellagio, and rowed about 5km across the lake to Castello Balbianello. We then rowed up the coast to Castello Carlotta and back across the lake to Bellagio center. We finished back at club in two hours and probably 12km later! My first time rowing ever including with children. If you're a rowing family, you'll love this experience. As alternative, Mich has a kayaking guided tour as well. Mich is a great guy who will give you a special family memory.

One of our highlights of bellagio, had the two seater canoe for two hrs, which gave my partner and I the chance to visit parts of the lecco side of the lake, inaccessible when walking. The guy behind the set up was really friendly and couldn't do enought to make a trip a memorable one.

Like most popular tourist destinations, Bellagio can be busy and noisy. You are basically limited to sleeping, eating and shopping, all done with 3000 other people. It is crowded and noisy at times. And although I could eat, shop and sleep in Bellagio for weeks on end without too many complaints, it can be a little boring.

That was why we booked a trip with Mich (Michela). We (Me, wife, daughter 13 and son 10) met him at 9:00 am and were in the water by 9:15. Out on the lake we saw things you could never see from Bellagio. And it was quiet. We were able to just float along and enjoy the lake in a way you can't do on a ferry or even a private boat. We saw shear cliffs and historic villas around Bellagio. Mich was an excellent tour guide, offering historical information whenever we asked. He was very knowlegeable about the area. He clearly loves living there.

I especially appreciated Mich's willingness to tow our son and his kayak back to Pescallo when our son got tired. The trip can be a bit of a workout, but it was welcome after 3 days of eating.

Getting to the kayaks from Bellagio is not difficult, but it does require 15 minutes of walking. Pescallo is on the other side of the Bellagio peninsula. Just take any of the streets that lead uphill away from Lake Como and through Bellagio. At the top is a main one way street. Take a right and when it looks like you are getting out of the shopping area you will see a break in the wall to the left which is a walkway (with about 300 steps) up the hill and then down the other side into Pescallo. A sign marks the path. You have to sort of find your way to the kayaks, but it is not difficult. Just keep going on the main walkway (there are no streets in Pescallo) and to the right when you have a choice.

Mich is a very nice man. He paid attention to safety by giving us comfortable life jackets and making sure we wore them. The price was very reasonable. Bring bottles of water as you will work up a sweat on the way there and then out on the kayaks.
