About
Every day: from 10.00 to 13.00 - from 14.30 to 18.00. Last ascent 30 minutes before th Torrazzo closes. Christmas, every Monday . The Torrazzo is one of the monument that best symbolizes the city of Cremona: it is indeed one of the highest medieval bell towers in Europe (m 112,54 – feet 368,18). The structure exemplifies the extreme accuracy of the ancient construction techniques and it is considered a perfect union between architectonic styles, which are completely different from each other. Thanks to the recent opening of the Vertical Museum, the issues related to the study of the astronomical are analyzed. Inside the 4 new halls you can find some curious historic objects and many kinds of old clocks. There’s also a fantastic Foucault’s Pendulum installation. Its oscillation demonstrates the Earth rotation from a scientific point of view. On the top of the tower you can admire a wonderful city view.

Well yes. There are 502 steps, but the view from the upper terrace is exceptional. Furthermore, on each floor there is something to discover more about the mechanisms of clocks in general and the astronomical one positioned along the Torrazzo.

Truly a beautiful experience, even though the weather was bad (wind and water) it was beautiful. A very interesting and engaging vertical museum! We purchased a single ticket to visit the Torrazzo, the Baptistery and the diocesan museum. Excellent expense. I recommend the visit

One of the famous 3 T of Cremona. The imposing bell tower of the erect more than 30 meters high and during the ascent, in the various landings, you will find various exhibits (clocks, mechanisms,
gears, bells ) that will also allow you to recover from the fatigue of the climb (about 435 steps ). At the top a beautiful panorama that sweeps over the city and surrounding villages.
Cumulative ticket er bell tower, diocesan museum and baptistery. ( 10€)

The Torrazzo is the bell tower of the Cathedral of Cremona, Lombardy, in northern Italy. At 112.7 meters (343 ft. 6 in), it is the third tallest brickwork bell tower in the world, the first being the tower of St. Martin's Church in Landshut, Bavaria, and the second at the Church of Our Lady in Bruges, Belgium. However the Torrazzo (completed in 1309) is older than the Landshut tower (completed in 1500) and the Bruges tower (completed in 1465), and it is the oldest brick structure taller than 100 meters that is still standing.
It has been decorated with the biggest astronomical clock in the world, showing, along with date and time, lunar phases and zodiac signs.
Start your tour of Cremona by climbing to the top of the tower (more than 500 steps) for magnificent views of the city and countryside beyond. There is a small fee to climb the bell tower.

1. The Duomo is a stupendous sample of Romanesque architecture with elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Its pinkish-white marble façade is perfectly balanced, although deceptively symmetrical. In fact, there are scores of little asymmetries that contribute to its attractiveness.
The central narthex (lobby) consists of a portico with pink Verona marble columns and symbolic lions half-lying around the pedestals.
2. "Torrazzo", at 112 m, is the tallest ancient bell tower still standing. It can be climbed through 502 steps... On its front is an astronomical clock with zodiac constellations, dating from the 1580s.
3. The octagonal Baptistery was built in the 12th c. in Romanesque / Gothic style. Like the Duomo it contains fine paintings by famous Renaissance artists.

The torrazzo di Cremona is the tallest brick belltower in Europe (111m) and is a symbol of the city, demonstrating the skill of the medieval masons responsible for erecting the tower. The astronomical clock facing the piazza is the largest of its kind in the world and is a masterpiece of mechanical craftsmanship. The 502 steps to the top of the tower provide a decent bit of exercise (though there are plenty of places to stop on the way up) and it isn't until you're above the seven bells that the steps become a little exposed for people who don't like heights - but I'd recommend that you do make your way up the spiral steel stairs to the top for the beautiful views out across the city, the countryside and the river Po

I was born in this beautiful town and i lived here until i was 19 where i then "moved" to the UK. Every time i come back here it's a joy. I would like this town to get the importance it deserves on a international level considering our tourist office has limited resources and doesn't seem to be to switch on in promoting my hometown abroad as it should be. The Duomo it's an absolute delight, the cathedral, the baptistery and of course il Torrazzo. You must go on the top as you can see everything from up there. Double check on the opening times of the tower. Piazza del comune is a fantastic space and if you are lucky enough to be there in summer there are fantastic bars to enjoy an aperitivo or an ice cream with live music. Don't forget to check the Stradivari museum, it's a MUST! A true Italian experience in rural Italy! Trust me!

Lovely views from the top of the whole region around Cremona - definitely worth the 502 steps if you can do it!

Worth the effort. What a view! And the "journey" is not THAT difficult. The stairs are wide enough and well-lighted. We recommend that you start the journey early in the day.

Between the frescoes, the starptuary, the crypt and the side chapels this is one of the most impressive cathedrals in Italy...and over 20+ years, I have seen dozens of beautiful cathedrals.
The entire internal space is a work of art with frescoes spanning centuries, statuary from various periods, wonderful stain glass windows and many other details. And do not miss the exterior in the morning and the evening when the entire appearance changes because of 5he light.
It is well worth several visits...mornings when the light is from the east and evening when the light is brighter and from the west.

Buongiorno,
che qualcuno sappia si può salire sul Torrazzo con i bambini (6 anni)?
Grazie!
Written May 2, 2018
