One suspects that Cremona doesn't receive the attention it deserves as a tourist destination. The historic center is just lovely. There are a number of interesting streets around the fabulous Duomo and one or two 'big ticket' items such as the violin museum. We were lucky in that the day we visited there was a large brocante market which had taken over the historic district and there were people everywhere. Very buzzy!

A town with an immense cultural and historic heritage . Especially attractive on Saturday morning with the market in full flow and the midday performance to come at the Violin Museum. Lovely squares, architecture, a Town Hall to envy , a world famous Violin Museum and nearer the train station just out of the centre, the superb Ponzone Civic Museum. Can you top this ? Yes, the tower. What a structure ! A town unfairly overlooked by many tourists and yet within easy reach of Brescia and Milan.

Now may be I'm biased. My family is from Cremona. I have always loved this city and its historic center. It is warm and inviting having both beauty and art. The Centro Storico has a comfortable cozy feeling that makes me feel that I am home. It is beautiful to walk and explore the main Cathedral as well as the Bell Tower. Check out the violin museum while you are there.

The old town of Cremona is literally a hidden gem! Not very touristy at all and it appears somewhat 'undiscovered'. This town on the river Po is a place drenched in history and culture. We just loved walking around, visiting the gardens, the Museo del Violino, and watching the locals going about their day. Visiting the morning market for fresh fruit and vegetables was an added bonus.
