Guided Walking Tour of Bergamo

A nice place to visit, if you are staying in Milan, is Bergamo. It is easily accessible by a 50-minute train and can be visited in one day. When you arrive in Bergamo, you will meet your guide at the funicular, the cable car station. The tour will focus on the upper city, which is where the medieval city center is located. Once you arrive you will visit Piazza Vecchia, the main square of Bergamo and the Campanone, the bell tower, which is also a panoramic point of the city. Afterwards you will visit the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, from the Romanesque period, and decorated with the extravagance of the Baroque style. Other main attractions of your tour in Bergamo are the Antico Lavatoio and the Cittadella Viscontea. And best of all, Gelato! You will stop at the ancient “Gelateria”, where the favorite flavor of the Italians was invented, Stracciatella, milk-based ice cream with chocolate chips.

Worth a ten minute seat to take the weight off and watch the ducks. A couple of photo opportunities and a bit of peace and quiet.

This part is right by the highway and across from the main hospital. In the summer there are a lot of activities here so it's worth knowing where it is, and looking at the diary of activities but as a park for just hanging out, there are nicer places really.

Nice off the beaten path park in Bergamo, offering several trails with views over a couple of ponds and wildlife. A cool thing about this place is the bar/pizzeria sitting in the very heart of it, where you can order burgers, pizzas or drinks. It is quite good for a night out and it's got plenty of outdoors seating options and music is on over night...maybe a bit too loud to be honest, so that would be the only thing I'd criticise considering you can barely talk and sustain a conversation with the music level being so high.

A pleasant little park which we found by chance en route to the Citta alta. This park is in the Citta bossa . Worth a stroll around if passing.

Nice to see. It is a nice location and the best of all it is free. So if you want to see a parc in Bergamo, definitely one to choose.
