The beautiful church of Santa Maria Immacolata Delle Grazie is located at the heart of the Bergamo Bassa at Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII. The church of Santa Maria Immacolata delle Grazie in Bergamo was built in 1857-1875 according to the design of the architect Antonio Preda. There was a Franciscan monastery in this place, but due to the reconstruction of Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII it was rebuilt. The present church was built in the neoclassical style on the Greek cross plan. Its decor largely comes from the old church. The vaults were frescoed by the painter Enrico Scuri. The dome's vault is impressive. Next to the church, some of the buildings of the former monastery have been preserved. A beautiful temple, worth visiting during your stay in Bergamo.

How rich this small city is, how many obvious and hidden masterpieces there are in it! This church was the first one I visited in Bergamo, it is located in the center of the Lower Town and can be visited on the way to the funicular, even if you have little time and plan to pay attention only to the Upper Town. There are a lot of interesting works of art, it’s definitely worth spending a few minutes.

This is a beautiful church in the lower city of Bergamo. I enjoyed talking to the sextant of the church as we looked around the church including the sacristy. I am from the US and wouldn't you know when I went into the sacristy I found the computer to be on American politics. the young fellow(a college student) was very well in the Italian constitution.

This majestic church is easy to find, as it’s ubicated on Largo Porta Nuova, the avenue of Bergamo which takes you from the railway station to the upper town. It will charm you with its superb golden decorations and its precious canvases… a must-see!

The first church was demolished to pave the way to the rail station. More prayerful than museum it had several locals there in the late afternoon.

A mighty beautiful church that is further embellished by the presence (temporarily?) of the polyptych of grace.
I really enjoyed the beautiful images.
