Even thought the museum is old comparing with other museums we've been through, the exhibitions are well done and well preserved, offering lots of interesting information, especially about the species of animals found in the Bergamo area. The information is mostly in Italian, but there are also a few displays in English. The museum is located in a building there you can also find the Civic Archaeological museum and the entrance ticket for both is 3 euros.

Hard to find - it's the glass doors next to the archway - but once you're in it's a good place to learn about what was discovered in the area. The reconstructed whale in particular. There is a cafe inside, and a kids area too.

This museum is (mostly) dedicated to the fauna and geology of the area around Bergamo, as it should since it is a relatively small outfit. It is therefore surprising to find a non-fossilized skeleton of a whale hanging from the ceiling, as the sea has not covered this land for several million years. Turns out the animal beached itself and died a few years ago, and the skeleton was 'awarded' in safekeeping. At the very least, it suggests that this is indeed a scientific museum, and not a playground. Nevertheless, visitors are encouraged to touch many of the specimen on display, which goes a long way toward keeping the kids busy and interested (and maybe learn something along the way), which is about all that one can ask of any museum anywhere.
The halls discussing the geology of the local mountains and the fossils found therein are interesting for adults, less for the kids. It does not help that tags in english are few and far between, and those in italian tend to be rather verbose.
The admission price (free when we visited) makes it a great bargain.
I would recommend to friends traveling with children; but not to a group of adults.

If you've been to 1 Natural Science museum you've been to them all. This one is full of animals from Italy and other counties as well... great for kids, OK for adults.

Right in the heart of Bergamo. Beautifully designed and laid out for families and children. Keeps all ages entertained for a good half day. Beautiful collection of the local wildlife.

I wanted to see it, but I needed to go somewhere else to buy the ticket (which I couldn't find) She didn't speak English, I don't speak Italian.
So I ended up not going there, but it looked really cool from the brief view I did get..

A great museum, free for kids and only 3 euros for adults. After many hours of walking around Bergamo with our twin 6yr olds they were very tired and grumpy. All this fell away when we took then to this museum. They loved it. Highly recommended for families.

What a lovely museum. Just the right size. Alot of interesting pieces set up in some lovely old buildings in the old town. A lot is written in English that makes it easier. Well worth 3 euros.

The entrance to the museum in 3 Euro for adults! The exhibition is about the nature and they have a very large set of animals on display from sea creatures , birds, insects to mammals. You can easily spend 2-3 hours with your family. It is was a surprisingly great museum for such an old town
