Good overlook - alps, plains and historic center

We skipped the museums based on traveller ratings, but enjoyed the view in nearly all directions from the terrace surrounding the fortress. No entry fee unless you want to enter the fortress museum itself.

Majestic and evocative
Oct 2019
A charming place like the whole old town of Bergamo. One of the best views of Bergamo you can see from this old 14th century fortification located on the hill of St. Euphemia. Inside there is a very interesting museum dedicated to Bergamo. Outside, you can have a wonderful walk in the garden, there is an exhibition of weapons used during World War I and II here. You can see cannons and a tank. There is a stone path. In addition, there is a museum, church and park in this place. There are benches and a fountain with drinking water. I highly recommend a walk, the views are really amazing.

Fantastic views
Oct 2019
The rocca occupies a high point in the Citta Alta, so the views over the plain and hills is remarkable. Regrettably, the tower and the museum were not yet open when we visited, but we were early enough to be the only people there. As with many places in Italy, the Great War is memorialized. Here there is a very nice garden and a small collection of archaic war machinery that some will find interesting.

Lovely views from the ramparts

Peaceful gardens, with lovely views out over the town (if a little overgrown). Warning signs about mosquitoes, although we weren't bitten during our afternoon visit.

Great view from the top of the tower

Perfect place to look over the city and make fantastic photos. There is also a small museum of history of Bergamo. It is quiet inside the fortress - a nice place to meditate and relax in the morning.

5$ museum not worth
Mar 2019 • Friends
The 5$ we paid for the museum was not worth it (small museum of history of bergamo, like 10mins to walk it all). The fort has nice view tho, but i don't think you need to pay for it

Usually if you visit a castle there is a plenty of things to see. Here, besides the exhibitons is not so much to look on it, but the splendid view from the top is worth for the visit.

Great views
Oct 2018 • Couples
Whilst the castle itself may not get one too excited, the views when you get there are most definitely worth the effort.

We have some great pictures to prove it

Best views in Bergamo.
May 2018 • Couples
This area of park land has its serious side as there are plaques and lists of those who died in the world wars. The views of the old town and the Italian roofs are wonderful.

Spend the 10 euros to visit most of the landmarks
May 2018 • Friends
A multi pass allows you to go into most of the paid exhibits. Here you can admire the massive construction of the fortress and it’s walls and walk on them to view the surrounding buildings.
