In order to get to this place it is best advised that you take the cable train and the tickets for the cable train can be purchased from the small paper shop just next to the bus stop . We tried to buy the tickets at the train station however we failed and had to go back to paper shop it cost us to euros 30 for two people well worth the price

If you were to do one thing in the area, make sure you walk up here to see the views. Walk all around the grounds and get panoramic views that are amazing.

Very nice place, especially in the evening, great sights. If the sky is clear, you will enjoy the view of the mountains just north of the city.

A short walk from the main street in the upper city Alta Citta is the historical museum and garden of remembrance. There are fine views of the city and towards the castle as well as super flower displays (in season) and memorials and military equipment on show. The museum is closed on Mondays (the day I visited so cannot review that part).

Have been here since my childhood many times, and since with my kids to burn off that icecream, enjoy the war memorials and terrific views. Short walk from Funicular and town, and enjoyable, some great photo opportunities!

This place offers some of the best views in Bergamo. It’s a short walk from the Cita Alta funiculare. It’s free to wander around and take some photos. The museum was closed on a Monday though.

We skipped the museums based on traveller ratings, but enjoyed the view in nearly all directions from the terrace surrounding the fortress. No entry fee unless you want to enter the fortress museum itself.

The rocca occupies a high point in the Citta Alta, so the views over the plain and hills is remarkable. Regrettably, the tower and the museum were not yet open when we visited, but we were early enough to be the only people there. As with many places in Italy, the Great War is memorialized. Here there is a very nice garden and a small collection of archaic war machinery that some will find interesting.

Perfect place to look over the city and make fantastic photos. There is also a small museum of history of Bergamo. It is quiet inside the fortress - a nice place to meditate and relax in the morning.

Was just roaming around for a few hours in Bergamo (day trip) and there was a couple with a kid in front of me walking up this narrow street so I followed. They stopped a few steps forward but I kept going...

And it turned into Rocca di Bergamo... a castle like building with a museum housed inside talking about how Bergamo came together in 1800s. I paid 5 euros to go in and mainly looked at the pictures and artifacts since the writings were in Italian (fun fact that I did find out towards the end of the visit that Google Translate can somewhat translate by me placing my phone on top of descriptions). The highlight of the fee was you get to go back outside and walk up some stairs to get an amazing elevated view of Bergamo. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful exactly what I was looking for in a day trip from Milan!
