It's not the lake by itself that makes it beautiful but the complete picture. The villages that surround it. The hills with very nice hiking tracks. From the hills you will see views; you can only see in postcards.

Loved the boat ride in the lake! Shopping in the town, local people were very friendly! Walking in the streets with all their side streets with all the flowers outside their shops. Bought some silk scarves .

There are ferries and fast boats. For private boat tours you must check in Como at the port. During the summer you can rent boats in Ossuccio wich is half way from Como and Menaggio basically opposite side of the lake from... More

What I suggest is while you are there you can use the train as it'll give you the chance to walk around the area which is really nice but for the day of departure try to hire a vehicle to avoid any risk. However there are... More
