Chiesa Di San Giacomo Di Corte is situated high on a hillside. To walk to the church is not for the feint hearted. I decided to walk up what appeared to be hundreds of, in places, quite narrow steps. On reaching what I thought was the end of my climb there was yet another set of steps. I had taken the climb at a gentle pace, the morning being sunny and warm and was very pleased to find that I was not 'out of breath'. The climb is well worth the effort. The views are spectacular over the bay. Inside the church, I was not disappointed, there are a few photographs of the interior on the website, well worth a visit.
After spending time sitting quietly and taking in the atmosphere I strolled around enjoying the individual alters, lighting candles for my friends and family at home and saying my prayers of thanks.
I thoroughly recommend a visit to this church either climbing the steep steps, walking up quite a steep hill or, there is room to park a car.

Off the beaten track, but adjacent to the park surrounding Villa Durazzo, the church was a haven of calm and tranquility in an otherwise bustling Santa Margherita. Perched on the edge of a hill, overlooking the sea, it is definitely worth the walk up to explore the area.

It was worth the climb up a wide staircase from the marina promenade. Smallish, but ornate, with a statue garden and villa next door.

Stunning church next to Villa Durazzo overlooking the Med below. Well maintained and is in the style of the region. Typical dark interior which highlights the stained glass windows.

Pleasant climb up to the church, also richly decorated but a tad less than Santa Margherita d'Antiochi (see my other review).

Beautiful church and stunning interiors. We climbed up from the bay and up some little stairs to get to it. Lovely cobbles mosaic in front of it

The church is interesting of its kind, with an amazing view as you exit. The padre, Don Marco, was as hostile as he could decently be to my (protestant) daughter's request to be married there. The local Bishop gave his ecumenical blessing and permission, but the padre was just difficult (kept us waiting an hour and a half after the time he had suggested) while he was chatting to parisioners, etc. Why cannot some so-called Christians act in a Christian way to each other? Stop me ranting...

Favorite church in Santa Margherita. Worth the hike up the hill to see it. Beautiful baroque flourishes with stunning chandeliers.
