Just beautiful

Was my first time visiting and I loved it. The town is surrounded by water, many nice cafes and shops to visit. Just beautiful and relax to walk around

This is a great little spot on the Italian Riveria not far from scenic Portofino. Lots of great food, shopping and beach areas here with spectacular scenery

We stayed 6 nights here at The Grand Hotel Miramare and really liked the place. It was busy in August but not frenetic. There are lots of good restaurants in town, good high end shopping and lots of holiday services available - scooter hire, boat hire etc. It's very close to Portofino which we are glad we didn't stay at,... Just ten minutes away from Portofino with more wonderful restaurants, beaches and water views at considerably less cost than Portofino. Definitely the place to see and stay. We were there in May of 2015 and have rebooked at Regina Elena for 2017. you will love it!

After a week in Lucca (very nice) I thought we'd spend a couple of days in Portofino, after all it's supposed to be the gem of the Italian Riviera. Not finding a reasonably priced room in Portofino, I settled on staying in Santa Margherita Ligure. And glad I did! Rooms and restaurants were far more reasonably priced than Portofino. Santa... Located about 15 minutes from Portofino, Santa Margherita is beautiful and filled with quaint shops and restaurants. It is decidedly less crowded than the port and well worth the visit

This is a great little beach town that allows access to both Portofino and Cinque Terra. The town itself is fabulous, but with the added benefits of its proximity to some really unique destinations makes it great. Will return!

Beautiful place. Crowded with tourists all over July/August. Good base for the t villages of cinque tera. Center location between Rapollo and Portofino. Fary boat leave every hour. So you can choose destinations from here. Prices are bit higher due to location... And not so many parking lots. There are 3 parking areas, easily can be found as you enter... More

We all know of Portofino, but Santa Margherita is just 5km and a 15 minute bus ride away. Packed with shopping, affordable restaurants, it's a perfect summer location.
