Santa Margherita Ligure is on the Italian Riviera overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio. We arrived by train from Sestri Levante. The train station is a gradual downhill walk to the town center. You can see the old town in a relatively short time. Up Via Palestro and down Via

So much nicer than Portofino, its chic, its real, the place really parties at night and the food choices are amazing... we will be back.. the local Trofie pasta with fresh Genoise pesto is the stuff of food legends!
