We were welcomed by the current owner who explained his vision and the work it has taken to restore the chateau. The grounds and restored interiors are very nicely done. Dinner was served to our private group indoors and it was a good example of Normandy food. The service was uneven, but could not be faulted in this situation.
It gave a glimpse into what life in the chateau might have been like.

Old chateau started in the 1530s and supplemented with 17th and 18th century additions is owned by a family that is working to restore and preserve the beauty of the house and grounds. They host receptions private events to generate funds for the upkeep. Elegant setting for dinner that allows guests to get a glimpse of life by the French nobles. The stables have been converted in small but fascinating museum recounting the Normandy invasion and the liberation of France in August 1944. An amazing collection of memorabilia of all types tells the story of that struggle.

We were passing and thought we would have a look. Unfortunatly it was closed as it was the off season and we had not checked. Most amusingly we were told by a man from the 1st floor window in a towel halfway through shaving. One of the staff running a team of gardeners doing some tree care came over and clarified the siutuation and said we were more than welcome to look round the garden and meet the donkeys. The staff were very welcoming and the gardens looked like they had great potential for the summer.
